Pros: Fits my Abit AW9D fitted with a Pentium D 3.0GHz without hitting any capacitors or coils where every other cooler mount has failed. The stock cooler would not hold itself in place due to hitting the capacitors on the edge of the LGA775. Unless I held it onto the CPU it would overheat and shut the...
Cons: Does not hold the cooler 100% tightly against the proc. There is a little side-to-side twisting allowed. However, it maintains the CPU at a perfectly normal operating temp and does not seem to pull away from the proc.
Cons: so after i installed it i could still wobble my zalman left-right. ..was a little concerned. turned out the zalman was pressing down w/ enough force but still lets the heatsink move...it should be like that but it works, cant really complain.
Summary: Zalman's website is great. Click on the support tab on the product page and they have helpful animated instructions.
Pros: This is an update on the clip compatibility on the Asus P5ND2-SLI- was getting 38 c idle on pentium d 2.8 with the all copper hs from zalman. Gave a 2nd life for a used Socket A HS and at a good price. Includes easy to apply thermal paste that works pretty well.
Cons: It will work on that motherboard but you must flip the clip upside down so that the notch no longer works with the J hook on the 775 socket. When installed correctly the latch for the CPU HS Fan hits the motherboard cooler so you have to rotate the clip 90 degrees.
