EVGA 8600GT

Michael T., Newegg
19 March 2010
  • Summary: Overclocking from stock core clock of 540mhz to 850mhz, and the memory from 700mhz to 830mhz. That's about it's max. That's a lot, but holds it's stability. Playing MW2 in full 1080p at about 50 to 75 fps
  • Pros: Perfect for the EVGA 8600GT, dropped temps from 153f (46c) at idle to 115. Under load about 230f to like 147 (45c) ! Very quiet also.
  • Cons: None really, except it can work for many other cards than listed. If the revised it, they would get more sales. But, that's not my problem.

Good, and pretty...

27 February 2010
  • Summary: The Card I have doesn't have a temperature sensor so I can't tell you how much it was lowered but I noticed that my Hard drives lowered by 2-4C° and the CPU about the same. On high of course.
  • Pros: A nice red VGA cooler, I hear Zalman has many good products and this is in my books as one. Directions where clear and it was easy to install. Looks good on a red board VGA Card and it also cools everywhere around the VGA; Hard Drives, Northbridge, and for my micro ATX board it also cooled the CP...
  • Cons: The only Problem I saw with it is it's compatibility with my video card. It's the video card manufacture's fault so no Egg are gonna break on this review. The video cards was a Palit Geforce FX 5500 AGP. The 1 RAM heatsink couldn't fit on it and another one had to be moved to the top. I know it's...

Great Video Card Fan

Anonymous, Newegg
18 January 2010
  • Summary: This VGA Cooler replaces a stock fan on an ATI X1650 Video Card. It has 2 modes of operation, 1 is for casual computing and the other for gaming. If you have a fan controller, you adjust the voltage from 5v to 12v. I will be buying another one for an HD2900 Video Card.
  • Pros: Copper Heatsink keeps the VPU cooler, Quiet Operation, Great Instructions to install product. Well worth the price.
  • Cons: None

Excellent Heatsink/Fan ~ GREAT value from NewEgg!

Darrin M., Newegg
6 January 2010
  • Summary: DON'T BUY ANY OF THESE!!! (I don't want NewEgg to run out before I get enough of 'em for me!)
  • Pros: These things are ENORMOUS compared to the cheesy, noisy li'l stock heatsink/fans that they replaced. I've resurrected a few Sapphire Ati 9600 Radeon Pro AGP cards to enable some older Intel D865GBF P4 PCs to run the Aero interface in Windows 7. A couple of the cards were obnoxiously loud, which r...
  • Cons: Had to dig out the good ol' Dremel to trim the mounting bracket to avoid interference with a capacitor on the video card, but it was quick & easy...

How are these still under 11 bucks?!

Anonymous, Newegg
4 January 2010
  • Summary: I picked up 4 of these figuring that they would sell out at that price, so I am surprised to still see them still in stock. I believe that the less-than-stellar quality of the Fatal1ty line in other products have hurt this fine product.
  • Pros: PRICE! Copper heatsink, double ball-bearing, subdued LED - I don't like LEDs but I'll take a mellow one at this price any day of the week!
  • Cons: Somewhat limited mounting options

Excellent Value

John S., Newegg
22 December 2009
  • Pros: haven't had it very long now, but think this is an excellent fan, especially for the price ($11 special sale), plus it looks good. I've paid more for mickey-mouse fans before, but this is a very good quality fan. It fits my Gigabyte Geforce 6600gt card perfectly and does not make a lot of noise l...
  • Cons: Not really a complaint, but wanted to mention that the size of the fan prohibits its use as a SLI since the sockets are so close to one another on the motherboard, but who cares?
