instalation sucks!

Michael d., Newegg
16 January 2015
  • Summary: use a better grade metal, this nice fan isn't worth anything if you can mount it properly.
  • Pros: nice fan but...
  • Cons: The installation hardware is made of butter!! they use Allen screws to mount it to the bracket, due to the size of the fan it isn't easy to get to the screws and the metal is SO soft the hex head strips out quickly. this is made worse by the fact I had a DOA board so I had to do this twice. I don...

Does not fit spects

edward b., Newegg
11 January 2015
  • Summary: This is my last Zalman Cooler.
  • Pros: I have been using these Zalman coolers since this company has been in business. Every one was fantastic.
  • Cons: In the Specifications it states that it will fit an LGA 1150. That is a lie. Its not Newegg's fault. It is Zalmans. I have one on another computer that is for the 1150, the fitting are nothing as they should be. Even the instructions don't say it will fit the 1150, which the Specifications say it...

Failed on 1150 Socket - i7 4790K

Thomas N., Newegg
13 December 2014
  • Summary: What a mess. I wasted two and half hours to install this thing. I should have stuck with Cooler Master. If you don't have the patience and special clamming tools, stay away from this product.
  • Pros: Contact plate, pipes and fins are made of copper. Nice packaging.
  • Cons: The screws were not long enough to reach the corresponding nuts below. I had to bend the bracing arms with pliers then force them down with special clamming tools. It was really hard to keep the this huge unit from sliding all over the CPU while trying to clam it in place, which in turn caused th...

does not fit 1150

Frank G., Newegg
15 November 2014
  • Summary: Looked to be a great product except that it would not mount on my system.
  • Pros: Looked good
  • Cons: It was supposed to support the 1150 but the brackets supplied do not come down enough to attach to the motherboard. I looked at some of the pictures from reviews of other products and they seem to be using brackets where the ends bent down more. I do have have tools to bend the brackets myself so...

MISSING PARTS

Jason C., Newegg
15 October 2014
  • Summary: It took me over an hour and a half to pull everything apart, put it all together and in the FINAL step, the bolts are unable to be threaded. Amateur hour. Refund, replace or send me the correct brackets overnight mail. Youtube is FILLED with comments about people in similar situations.
  • Pros: I'll update later if they fix the problem - otherwise I'm returning for a refund. Gross.
  • Cons: My brackets, which are essential to the installation process are not bent. As in, I half almost half an inch of space in between the bolts and the screws. No contact, no threading and INSTALLATION IS IMPOSSIBLE.

Lemon?

kon l., Newegg
14 August 2014
  • Pros: Good air flow and is quiet. Large but still fits case.
  • Cons: There are quite a few reviews that claims that the brackets do not reach the bolts and this is the same case with me as well. If you look at installation videos, the bolts from the back of the motherboard are much longer and the bracket itself would stay on the motherboard. My rear bracket kept f...

Does not fit

Christopher L., Newegg
25 July 2014
  • Summary: It does not fit the AM3+ socket, so maybe stop claiming that it does.
  • Pros: Looks large. Made of copper.
  • Cons: It cannot be installed. Here is why: 1. The top bracket and the bottom bracket lie about 1.5 inches off each other once fully in place. The supplied screws for them are...not 1.5 inches long. 2. The screws are directly under the fins, meaning it is impossible to use a screwdriver for them. You ha...

User Review

Adam M., Newegg
24 July 2014
  • Pros: -
  • Cons: The thing is absolutely massive. There is also an extremely loud and annoying clicking/buzzing coming from the fan. The screws were stripped by the allen wrench that came in the box and now I can't get it off the motherboard. Temperature of CPU is also still clocking in at the same temps that the...

Pointless

Judy A., Newegg
10 February 2014
  • Summary: Looks nice. SHARP edges of blades. But... I cant use, because well, the mounting aparatus is a joke.
  • Pros: So far, None. I cant get it installed.
  • Cons: Well, I cut myself on the edge within 1 min of handling it... but thats not the issue. Issue is: It clearly states in the manual it comes with 3 sets of screws... only had TWO. the missing set is longer than the two provided. needs longer screws to mount the thing to the MOBO... so... Im now havi...

Total Fail with AMD processors

Micheal C., Newegg
13 January 2014
  • Summary: I gave up on installing this thing after the screw came off one side and flung some where. To install this on a AM3+ you would have to bend the metal pieces to match the bottom bracket. I have been doing this a long time and I have to say this is the worst design I have ever seen.
  • Pros: Never got to test the fan because the install is the worst design I have ever seen
  • Cons: -Terrible design. Who ever designed this garbage needs to be canned and fast. -You will cut your hand while installing because you have to push the thing down hard for the screws to match the bottom.
