  • Summary: Got a noisy computer? If you've finally decided to take some action and replace a loud heatsink for something quieter, and cooler-running, take notice of the Zalman CNPS8700 LED heatsink.

  • Summary: Taking into consideration its height and weight, the CNPS8700 is an excellent cooler, achieving better results than expected. It can't quite compete with larger, taller heatsinks, but isn't left in the dust either. It's relatively compact, beautiful to look at and provides very good cooling not just for the CPU but for the components around it.

  • Excerpt: Zalman went back to their roots, so to speak, and came up with a very nice product in the CNPS8700 LED CPU cooler. While the performance isn't earth shattering, it's plenty good enough for most users, better and quieter than the OEM Intel unit, and still allows some overclocking headroom. In addition it is all packed into a relatively compact package that will appeal to users with limited case room and also for HTPC/SFF enthusiasts.

Zalman CNPS8700 LED CPU Cooler

BCCHardware
6 September 2007
  • Summary: Ok, so on to the installation, I had originally installed the Heatsink and bracket with the motherboard out of the case. This was pretty straightforward and once I had the two brackets on the board, the heatsink snapped on pretty easy. I would recommend that you also do this as I had some problems getting it back on once I took the heatsink off after I put the motherboard back into the case.
  • Pros: Great Performance, Very Quiet (Even at Top Speeds), Well Built Cooler
  • Cons: More expensive than some coolers, Mounting is a bit tricky
