Switched from stock cooler to this bad boy, and I can't hear a thing anymore

Xavier H., Amazon
11 March 2015
  • Summary: I was having problems with keeping the noise down in my box, and it wasn't my graphics card. Switched from stock cooler to this bad boy, and I can't hear a thing anymore! Works great and very easy to install.

  • Summary: Used this in an HTPC build (years ago). It was very quiet and kept the CPU nice and cool, and beat everything else in it's price range. Zalman rocks!

Zalman CPU Cooler

Michael H., Newegg
26 February 2009
  • Summary: P4 3.0 Prescott as a WHS. The original ten dollar heat sink/fan I bought 3 years ago was so loud! This is awesome! I went ahead and used the thermal grease it came with and my temps are in the mid 30's idle according to the bios and everest ultimate.
  • Pros: Quiet! Finally!! The Fan Controller is very nice too. The controller comes with a sticky pad that you can use to stick anywhere.
  • Cons: None!

Great fan

Josh Y., Newegg
7 February 2009
  • Pros: Very quiet, even without using the included fan controller. Keeps the processor near room temperature and significantly cooled my northbridge because of the open heat sink design.
  • Cons: I cant fry eggs on my northbridge anymore and the grid-shaped burn marks on the back of my fingers will heal now.

  • Pros: Lighter weight than the solid copper version. Cools just fine.
  • Cons: Could be tight fit in some smaller cases.

User Review

Christopher S., Newegg
1 February 2009
  • Summary: A solid alternative to the AMD stock HSF. Seems to provide decent overclocking headroom. Your mileage will vary depending on your CPU.
  • Pros: Keeps things nice and cool. Reasonably priced. Quiet enough. Busted an extra 500 MHz out of my Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester and has been running at that speed for about a year with no issues. I've never had to make any adjustments to the HSF after the initial installation.
  • Cons: Kinda big, but that's only an issue if you have a cramped case (still, there are definitely some much larger HSFs out there).
