Summary: A warning to owners of MSI K8N NEO boards. I couldnt remove the stock backplate of the board. So I used the stock backplate instead of the supplied backplate for the hsf. I ended up overtightning the hsf and cracking something on the mobo.
Summary: This thing went in fine with no issues about if it would fit or not into my ASUS P4S800D-E Deluxe. Just one curiosity though: even after tightening the screws all the way down on both sides (a little at a time on one side, then a little on the other side till it was tight) it still seemed like it...
Summary: This heatsink/fan module is HUGE. Luckily it doesn't interfere with anything on my board (k8v SE Deluxe)- even though it looks as if the RAM would be a problem. Be careful, as the copper fins are easily bent. Also, USE THE BACKPLATE INCLUDED- otherwise the entire unit is worthless.
Summary: Just started assembling my new system tonight, and found out that this heatsink fan unit will not fit my MSI Neo Platinum mobo "out of the box" since that mobo comes with its own backing plate with short posts already attached.
