Great Cooler

Martin E., Newegg
28 February 2016
  • Summary: The Zalman CNPS14X installs the same way a Cool Master Hyper 212 Evo does, you have to take the motherboard out of your case to install it, you also have to remove the stock CPU mounting bracket, as long as you follow the directions you should not have any trouble installing this cooler.
  • Pros: My FX 8350 Idles at 5C under full load with Prime95 37C max temp, I had a Cool Master Hyper 212 Evo installed before this cooler and Idle was 19C and Max temp 51C using Prime 95. I have the Zalman CNPS14X cooler installed on a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard inside a Cooler Master HAF 932 case, so the...

This thing is great

Andy S., Newegg
14 October 2015
  • Summary: If the price is right, get this. It'll blow any stock cooler away. Just make sure it'll fit your rig
  • Pros: This thing took my i7 with stock cooler down a good 20 degrees, its also much quieter. Running the mprime stress test with the stock cooler could actually cause CPU temps to reach 100C under load due to AVX instructions hammering the CPU. Running this same test with the CNPS14X cooler kept temper...
  • Cons: The obvious: size. This sucker is huge so make sure your case/mobo fit it. Probably a bigger issue is the packaging doesn't protect the copper surface of the heatsink. Therefore the surface had oxidized quite a bit. Nothing a little salt and vinegar couldn't clean off (look up how to clean tarnis...

Great Cooler For OCing

Sharon S., Newegg
1 September 2015
  • Pros: Great cooler for overclocking! It's running my FX-6300 at 4.8ghz right now. Never gets over 40*C. Install was super easy. I don't understand how people can find it difficult. It took me less than 10 minutes to install the cooler, and mobo into my case. Its a big cooler, but that's required for it...
  • Cons: The fins on the cooler around where you clip on the optional fans are very sharp. Could cut wires within your case if they rub.

Great in all ways

Jared S., Newegg
11 June 2015
  • Summary: One of the best coolers I have used. Fairly easy to install... make sure you read the instructions!!! If you flip the back-plate the wrong way, the bolts will be too short.
  • Pros: Excellent cooling. Quiet. Attractive. Everything a wome....HSF should be. I have it mounted to an FX-8310 clocked up to 4.1Ghz on an ASROCK 970 Performance board.
  • Cons: It's big. Double check specs with your intended case/motherboard/ram for clearance.

Above average air cooler

Richard S., Newegg
5 May 2015
  • Summary: If you want to use push /pull, the two extra fan clips work with 120mm fans, you don't need 140's.
  • Pros: Bought because of the price. They must have a load of these to move because of all the installation complaints, so they are practically giving them away A/R and promo code. Cooling performance is at least on par with the hyper 212 and was 1/3 of the cost. I install my air coolers for upwards airf...
  • Cons: Was hoping for a little better cooling, results about equal to a hyper 212's and corsair a70's I have and below almost all but the cheapest liquid setups . And it's a little laborious to get it tightened down but that's obvious as the size of the cooler dictates that the bolts are located under t...

Great, but BIG!

Anonymous, Newegg
1 April 2015
  • Summary: I knew that it may not fit in my case, so I'm still giving 5 stars.
  • Pros: Cheap price, It had a 20$ off promo from email deals and 20$ rebate! Keeps meh CPU cool!
  • Cons: It's big as hell! I just guesstimated the measurements to see if It would fit, unfortunately it is like 4 mm off, but I left it on and had the top part of the side panel off a lil.

Huge but cool

Charlene S., Newegg
7 March 2015
  • Summary: I knew the installation would be tricky going into it, so I wasn't caught off guard at all. If you are patient and willing to take the time to install this cooler then I would highly recommend it. Smaller coolers such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 are definitely easier to install.
  • Pros: This is a well built cooler with a very quite fan. I installed this on an i5 2500K with and MSI P67-G43 motherboard with all RAM slots filled with G. Skill Ripjaw X modules with the tall spreaders and even though the fins hang over the first two slots they clear the RAM coolers by a few millimete...
  • Cons: Installation is fairly simple, but getting the screws to thread into the backplate bolts is a bit of a hassle. The included spanner tool works just fine but requires more effort and time than using an ordinary screw driver, but unfortunately due to the size of the cooler it is required to use the...

mark m., Newegg
4 March 2015
  • Summary: It will not fit in a corsair air 240 case. (no fault of the cooler)
  • Pros: This seems to be a great cooler. It's built well and is reasonably priced.
  • Cons: none that I see.

great heatsink

Jiyuan W., Newegg
20 February 2015
  • Summary: I paid $30 for the heatsink. Took me 1 and half hour to install it. I am satisfied with the performance, now my 4790k work under 70C at full load (was 78% with my old cooler master). Some reviews said the screws are too short, it is not true!!!
  • Pros: Price is really good Quite.
  • Cons: design is somewhat poor. Heatsink is so huge, my hand is too big to tight screws. I have to take motherboard out to install the heatsink. But for this price I don't think it is a con.
