Pros: Great cooler for overclocking! It's running my FX-6300 at 4.8ghz right now. Never gets over 40*C. Install was super easy. I don't understand how people can find it difficult. It took me less than 10 minutes to install the cooler, and mobo into my case. Its a big cooler, but that's required for it...
Cons: The fins on the cooler around where you clip on the optional fans are very sharp. Could cut wires within your case if they rub.
Summary: So first of all this is my first non-stock cooler and after hearing that the major con is the installation, I decided to give it a try anyway. This thing is massive and it barely cleared the height of my RAM modules.
Pros: Works well, got 4.3GHz on my i5-4670k on the first attempt. Might try to go higher later.
Cons: Instructions need work, a lot of the diagrams are misleading or hard to read. Need to work out a mental model of how to install it since it's so large and blocks other components. This is my first aftermarket cooler install, so it wasn't terrible nor was it very easy.
Summary: If you want to use push /pull, the two extra fan clips work with 120mm fans, you don't need 140's.
Pros: Bought because of the price. They must have a load of these to move because of all the installation complaints, so they are practically giving them away A/R and promo code. Cooling performance is at least on par with the hyper 212 and was 1/3 of the cost. I install my air coolers for upwards airf...
Cons: Was hoping for a little better cooling, results about equal to a hyper 212's and corsair a70's I have and below almost all but the cheapest liquid setups . And it's a little laborious to get it tightened down but that's obvious as the size of the cooler dictates that the bolts are located under t...
Summary: This review refers to installations on Socket 1150 (and probably 1155 as well). Many reviewers are complaining that the screws ('bolts') are too short. These reviewers probably made the same mistake I also initially made.
Summary: However, once you have experienced with the installation once, it is not going to be that hard any more. I would buy another one at $10 if I had the need of a new PC.
Pros: This cooler is huge. I am using it to cool an Intel i7-2600K CPU. I can overclock it to 4.4 GHz (as opposed to the default 3.4GHz) without problem. At 100% usage, the core temperature is at approximately 60 Celcius while the ambient temp is 28.
Cons: I have to remove the motherboard from the case. And since the cooler blocks the access to one of the RAM slots, it is impossible to add more RAMs once you have installed it (this is referenced to an ASUS PBZ77 motherboard and the situation would be the same with the other ASUS MB I have).
Summary: I have owned over 6 CPU fans from Zalman, and this is the worst designed product I have seen from Zalman. Shame on you.
Cons: The installation requires access to the underside of the motherboard. Therefore, to install this CPU fan will require a new build or complete disassembly of your system. My situation was the later, which I find totally unacceptable.
