Nice unit, but too big

JAMES R., Newegg
22 December 2014
  • Summary: If you are using memory with large heatsinks, this won't work. I think that even with low profile memory, the fins would block the use of one of the memory slots (Gigabyte X97-UD5H Dotherboard)
  • Pros: Moves a lot of air looks nice
  • Cons: Too big, interferes with memory installation

Great performance, unreliable in a long-term.

Kozlovskii, Newegg
5 July 2014
  • Summary: For a $100 i expected at least 3 years of flawless work. And now warranty is gone and I have to buy a new cooler. Disappointed. I will avoid this brand in a future.
  • Pros: Great performance, cools down i7-3930k with no problems.
  • Cons: After a 1.5 year of use, central fan is not parallel to the side fans any more. It has an angle about 10 degrees. Because of that, central fan hits the metal parts of the cooler, producing an extremely annoying and loud sound. I have to keep my PC case leaning against the wall at all times so the...

User Review

James C., Newegg
26 June 2014
  • Pros: Good air movement, high quality build.
  • Cons: Parts that were essential for the installation were not included in the box. I had to email Zalman for them. That is unacceptable when you pay this much for a cooler...

Brian

BRIAN B., Newegg
25 July 2013
  • Summary: It is most unfortunate for me but I'm not able to have the full enjoyment of my CNPS12X as the other owners. Newegg got one over on me on this deal, they shipped me a cooler with a broken middle fan. Because I was buying my desired parts on sale, I wasn't checking them on arrival.
  • Pros: Very quiet, very large, and seem to have the potential to do a very good job. I cannot give rave reviews because mine arrived damage. The center fan on mine is off axis and does not work since it's jammed in the cooling fins, but even with two fans it's doing a fine job. I plan to buy another for...
  • Cons: None! If the motherboard fits, you must buy this!!!

Good but not that good

Phillip W., Newegg
9 May 2013
  • Summary: I got this on a shell shocker to make it about 40 bux with rebate. I have an amd system and am using a ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED it keeps my CPU at 32 and after a heavy gaming session it is no higher than 38c. Installed this cooler thinking it might make it a tad bit better.
  • Pros: 3 fans. 6 heatpipe design
  • Cons: mounting, fans dont run fast enough

Huge fan

Katie G., Newegg
23 January 2013
  • Summary: If you have very low profile RAM and a very large case then it might fit, but the mounting brackets will not fit on the Asus Crosshair MoBo without a hacking saw.
  • Pros: This fan is quiet and keeps the CPU cool while rendering hours of HD video, and it looks cool. It is also very light-weight, made from unusual, new materials.
  • Cons: This gigantic fan won't fit in many cases, and I had to buy more RAM, slower lower profile sticks, because there is not have enough clearance. The manufacturer claimed the bracket would fit my motherboard--and IT DID NOT FIT AS ADVERTISED. I had to modify the brackets to clear MoBo components. So...

Nice but too large

Anonymous, Newegg
27 June 2012
  • Pros: This is a great cpu fan
  • Cons: Way to large to fix in my MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) Motherboard and have quad channel memory in use. The fins cover 2 DIMM slots on both sides.

Looks aren't everything.

Jeremy T., Newegg
21 May 2012
  • Summary: My friend bought this recently and expected great things from it, only to find out that it's the small things that stops this product from reaching its potential. I personally helped him install and find the cons of it.
  • Pros: -Looks great -Decent temps -Good mounting = very secure -Not very wide compared to the competition due to the design
  • Cons: -The temperatures are quite high for the pricepoint. I'm guessing this is due to the smallish size of the heatsink's fins. -It'll easily conflict with your RAM, so be sure to get some that's 40mm or less. -It'll conflict with your first expansion slot with certain motherboards -A bit tedious to i...

No Regard to Surrounding Hardware

Matthew H., Newegg
8 March 2012
  • Summary: My first Zalman cooler was a CNPS7700CU on a socket 939 platform. Ever since then I've been a loyal user of their products. When I upgraded to a dual core on that same platform I upgraded to the CNPS9500 and then to the CNPS9700 when I upgraded to an AM2+ quad core system which I used for over 3...
  • Pros: -Provides Excellent CPU Cooling. The only non-TEC or watercooling solution I've seen first hand that compares in cooling ability is the Noctua NH-D14. Running an AMD FX-8120 OC @ 4Ghz, idle temps around 35C with minimal fan speed. While playing BF3 at max settings while simultaneously encoding a ...
  • Cons: -Very poorly designed in regard to how it fits with surrounding hardware. I've read multiple reviews where RAM slots and/or a top PCI-E slot was blocked by this. In my system the top PCI-E is covered in addition to 3 RAM slots. I specifically purchased slightly lower profile mushkin modules in th...

Mas estetica que otra cosa.

  • Summary: Esteticamente es precioso este disipador con sus led azules, si es que te interesa la estética (a mi personalmente me encanta asomarme por la ventana de mi armor revo). Y enfriar como tal.. enfria..
