Summary: Originally I have a 212 Evo 120 mm heatsink/fan which I replaced with this one thinking the design would help me have all my ram slots (the evo is a lot bigger than anticipated). the CNPS helped. I was able to install 4 ram cards and was happy with everything.
Pros: LED Light, Design helps it so that you dont loose a ram slot on a 970A MoBo
Cons: Heat distribution is horrid Does not stay cool Fan Constantly on while doing absolutely nothing See Other Thoughts:
Summary: Save your money, buy a direct contact heatsink, add two delta fans and you have a CPU cooler that works better for less money.
Pros: Nice LED fan, and looks like it would work well.
Cons: Bad design and orientation of heatsink results is less than optimal heat extraction. As well, it is a pain to clean the dust build up from behind the fan, you must remove the the unit to accomplish this, and its not worth the effort
Pros: Aside from looking nice, I couldn't tell you.
Cons: I just bought this fan as a package deal with my GIGABYTE GA-X58A-OC from this site. Final package showed up today and I started building. Go to put this baby on, and it doesn't fit. That's pretty bad. I could understand if I had bought a seperate fan and it didn't fit. I made the mistake of thin...
Summary: I called Zalman and they said that many customers was having problems 1155 motherboards. That suggest I return it and buy a smaller heatsink. I can't because I sent my UPC code for the rebate. Let's see how newegg responds...
Pros: Looks awesome!
Cons: I have the bracket mounted on the back of the motherboard (1155 slots), but the north bridge on my Asrock p67 Extreme4 motherboard is making it nearly impossible to position the heatsink. The fan is suppose to face the RAMs. All other directions will not align with the screws.
