Given wrong clips

Brian S., Newegg
6 March 2014
  • Pros: Have owned 4 of these, bought 5th just recently. These are good heatsinks/fans. Proper heat dissipation through the copper tubes, good overall airflow.
  • Cons: Bought 5th this past weekend. Wrong clips came in the box. I consider this a manufacture defect not the retailer as the retailer obviously does not pack the parts in the box. Submitted proof of purchase to Zalman customer service as well as called them.. No contact back for replacement. Good prod...

Incompatible with P8 Z77-V LE PLUS

Dave M., Newegg
3 April 2013
  • Summary: I'm generally not great at following instructions. Though I've never had a computer build take more than 20 minutes. Blazed through this build up form the ground up, until I hit this fan. Thankfully it was the last thing I wanted to install and had already tested every component to that point.
  • Pros: I don't know, I didn't really get to see how well it worked...
  • Cons: Instructions left something to be desired. I've not had problems with instructions, but I had issue with installing this unit. I put the spacer in when I didn't need to. But they didn't obviously mark it as optional. This component was the only reason my system didn't post. It must have been the ...

works great

zhe x., Newegg
13 May 2012
  • Summary: compared with my other cpu cooler, hyper 212+, at price of 20$, 212+ is trash. 212+ is at least 10c higher than cnps 10x performa. compared with xigmatek sd1283, if no special sale, at price of 40$, cnps 10x performa is almost trash.
  • Pros: cooling cpu pretty well, with a second fan, it make my 2500k at 4.8ghz with full load at 50-55c from 75-80c.
  • Cons: 1. super stupid mount design. i followed the instruction, use the double side glue to put the mount on the motherboard. as a result, it is almost impossible to remove it. i am super unhappy with it. 2. mail-in-rebate can not be tracked, after send out MIR couple weeks, still no feedback from zalm...

wrong AMD clips

David D., Newegg
3 May 2012
  • Summary: Returned again with an immense amount of trouble, and just ordered a Hyper 212 EVO instead, hopefully it will be a good one!
  • Pros: great price on sale after rebate of $19.99. Seemed like it would be a good cooler...
  • Cons: I got my computer completely taken apart to install this cooler, only to reach the point of screwing the AMD clips to the MOBO and finding the clips are incorrect. They came flat all the way across, instead of with "feet" on the ends to reach the MOBO. The screws could not reach the backplate sup...

Bzzzt!

Jeffrey G., Newegg
25 February 2012
  • Summary: I tried to figure out on Zalman's site how to get this fixed, but alas, I can't find anything beyond ads for their product and manual downloads. I don't know if any of you other newegg fans know how to contact this company, or if Newegg can help.
  • Pros: Big fan, big heatsink, very good mounting kit, good cooling.
  • Cons: I finally got to install this after going through a long process of picking parts. I got it installed, up and running. After the boot process settled down I reached over to turn the fan speed adjustment and POP! Yellow sparks shot out of the control unit and the CPU cooling fan went to top speed....

Not for LGA 1366!

Tim H., Newegg
3 July 2011
  • Summary: For a vendor to charge $80 and not include cheap specialty tools required to do a fast, neat install is a crime. I have been building sytems for many years (Intel, AMD, now Intel again) and have never encountered problems with a HSF install such as this before.
  • Pros: Does a good job of cooling (when and IF you can get it installed).
  • Cons: Ridiculously difficult to install using 1366 hardware. You just plain can't reach 2 of the screws to tighten the unit with the fan in place, without some type of special tool. If you do take the fan off, you may not be able to get the fan connetor properly seated again (I.E. NO FAN).

Intell only cpu cooler

Christopher P., Newegg
12 February 2010
  • Pros: Very big keeps cpu very cool
  • Cons: if you have amd... dont even get this cpu cooler it comes with no mount for amd just a clip u have to use on the stock motherboard mounting bracket...and can only #1 blow hot air on your video cards or #2 blow hot air up ( in my case right into my 120mm fan on my power supply) because of the way ...
