Summary: I remove my CPU cooler once a year to re apply thermal grease and reseat the cooler. This cooler is REALLY hard to do that on. I would say you could mount it with the MOBO out of the case, but if you have a micro atx or atx board it will block 3 plus screws.
Pros: Quite. Looks cool. Keeps CPU at a nice temp relatively speaking
Cons: VERY bulky Hard to install. Mounting is made of plastic and after removing twice was bent to the point that it couldn't be used.
Summary: Bought this in April '09 for an I7-920, and have never been very happy with it. My temperatures are high, I cannot overclock because of this, and the thing is so massive I can't even fit it in any of my old cases. This guy is getting retired, maybe as a neat looking paper-weight.
Pros: Solid construction, looks neat.
Cons: Does not cool very efficiently, can screw up airflow inside case, plastic screws for mounting to motherboard are a pain.
Cons: Where to begin... Well, after cleaning all the blood off of it after install, (razor sharp fins, buyers beware) I noticed right away that it does not mount very well. Also, the fan just vents hot air all over your case. Not directional. My temps were 20 degrees C highier then with my stock cooler...
