Doesn't even cool!

Daniel H., Newegg
18 May 2014
  • Summary: If I would have just read the other reviews before buying this I would not have bought it.
  • Pros: LED Looks cool and base station is sturdy.
  • Cons: The fan doesn't spin fast at all and actually is very slow. This does not even make a dent in my gaming laptop for cooling purposes.

User Review

  • Summary: It does what it is supposed to and by that I mean it spins. It keeps the outside of my laptop cool but according to Coretemp it does nothing for the inside components when running. I'm not sure any of these fans that work from the outside can really do anything except when your inner fan kicks in to help it. If your looking to cool the outside off for what that's worth this fan will do it.

Very dissapointed

Victor T., Newegg
8 November 2013
  • Summary: This cooler has no variable speed fan so you're stuck with the CFM/ RPM displacement listed. I always use same testing method to evaluate the different cooler performances (Under load paying a game or using a music software). Thermaltake should concentrate of commercializing a more efficient cooler and compromise on looks maybe. Total waste of my money.
  • Pros: Solid construction. Blue LED looks good.
  • Cons: Have this cooler on an MSI 15.6 gaming laptop. What a disappointment... the purpose of buying a cooler should be obvious. This item doesn't do the job at all. I don't really care that much about looks but performance is KEY here. Been monitoring the laptop temperature (HWmonitor from CPUID) and there is almost no difference if the cooler's on or not.

Terrible experience

Matthew B., Newegg
19 February 2012
  • Summary: Don't waste your money
  • Pros: Quiet
  • Cons: The rubber pieces did not support my computer and in the night, my computer slid off the cooling pad. It was not damaged thankfully. This is definitely a flawed designed.

  • Summary: its been one day since i got this and the bearing is allready bad. i dont see the point to RMA somthing that costed 30$ i dont have the time to ship it back and all that this is a poorly made product and i would like newegg to make this right.
  • Pros: its made by thermaltake the companey that i buy all of my cases from.
  • Cons: it is noisy as heck and i would assume that it will stop working soon. its been one day since i got this and the bearing is allready bad. i dont see the point to RMA somthing that costed 30$ i dont have the time to ship it back and all that this is a poorly made product and i would like newegg to make this right.

Do not buy!

Megan, Amazon
29 July 2014
  • Summary: I have a 17 inch laptop, and I bought this cooling pad because it had some of the best raitings, and I didn't want to spend a fortune. I wish I would have. This does nothing to help my laptop cool down. It was a waste of money, do not order it!! The LED light is pointless. It seems like my laptop is hotter now, than it is without the cooling pad. Buyer beware.
