Cons: It worked for 10 minutes then I noticed the fan was not spinning, but if I held the cooler upright the fan would turn on when I put my labtop on top on the cooler the fan would not spin. Processed rma got a full refund
Simple and effective when you need a laptop to run cooler
14 October 2015
Summary: I used this under my Dell XPS laptop. Like many laptops with fans and heat sinks wearing out this one already had the fan replaced and would run hot. I bought this fan - it s the best value - saved a repair again. Laptop runs cool and great.
Summary: You can put a piece of paper on the fan and it wouldnt move off if the fan wasn't at an angle. I would be seriously considering taking this thing apart to replace the fan if it didn't look so cool and taking it apart requires removing some of the rubbers.
Pros: its a great laptop platform, well made. The laptop wont slip, and the platform grips the table well. It also looks cool.
Cons: The fan is about as useless as anyone says. I was trying to get a cooler that would make my hand feel less hot on a HP dv6 2nd gen i7 and 6770m. dropped the temps on each about 7C. Still feels hot on my hand. cpu:60->53 idle, 83->77 , gpu: 70->65, 103->95C
Summary: Maybe I just got unlucky, but this lowers my opinion of the Thermaltake brand overall. I expected better.
Pros: Seems sturdy. The fan spins, and it's got a pretty light.
Cons: The metal grill is only part of the top surface, offering no structurual support. Mine came with a rattling piece that was probably part of the rear door's hinge assembly. It took a lot of prying and pulling to get that little thing out of the fan's working area. Shouldn't affect the stand's perf...
Summary: The LED light performed well, but when you put your computer on it, you cannot see it. What was the purpose?. The fan was not properly aliened and clicked within the housing, no way to adjust. After twenty or thirty minutes of clicking, the fan would stop.
