Pros: Bought this laptop cooler for an old laptop that the CPU fan had failed on. This is an inexpensive way to get a lot of cooling to the laptop. It is not the best cooler on the market, but a good value for the amount of cooling.
Summary: Am going to buy another one after I finish sending this review.
Pros: I bought one of these in 2003 and it worked great for 7 years. It had different packaging back then and a different model name but it was the very same design as this model. I thought the airflow from the 4 internal fans was great and enjoyed the variable speed wheel which permitted me to increase or decrease the airflow. When it died it appeared to be from a fan bearing failure because it was making a grinding noise. But, I bought it for less than ten dollars (seems ...
Summary: I purchase the Star Tech notebook cooler for my dish network satellite receiver VIP622. The VIP622 has a severe problem with overheating. I pulled the Notebook cooler out of the box, plugged in the USB cable to the back of the receiver, turned on the cooler, and placed the satellite receiver on top. WOW! A 30 second installation from box to a working product. My receiver now does not come close to getting hot.
Pros: 4 fans, USB connection, from box to working product - 30 seconds
Cons: Could not find in local stores. S&H made product a little pricy.
Pros: It's slender and has nice ventilation (both sides have air intake) and the top is mostly vents so that the air flow isn't being blocked or concentrated on a single spot. 4 fans is nice. Quiet, even on the highest settings.
Cons: Even on the highest setting there is barely any airflow; the specs says 40CFMs but I find that to be stretching it. It's more like a very gentle breeze than something substantial. I already have this product: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834998314&cm_re=belkin_laptop_cooler-_-34-998-314-_-Product and I have had that one for a year+. I am not recommending it (for it's not that great), but I want to state that it is FAR better than this one. The...
Summary: Overall can't complain definitely the best bang for your buck... Overall very satisfied and hopefully will last me a long time :-)
Pros: -Lightweight -Even keeps laptop cool at low speeds -Cheap Price -The humming fan is lower than more expensive coolers. I've used in the past. -Toggle switch for Speed -Toggle switch for on/off -The wire from the cooler to the USB is long
Cons: -Not really a con... a little bit smaller than expected, but my fault for not reading the dimensions of the product first. -Maybe a little flimsy, hopefully more durable than it looks
Summary: It's not worth the money if it's going to go toes up after less than 6mos. it did a good job keeping my laptop cool. It still works, sometimes. It's not my computer it's definitely the cooler its self because depending on what position it's in it will work or not work and cuts in and out all the time. It's not the usb connection so it's something inside the cooler. Beats me.
Pros: Kept my aging overheating laptop cool
Cons: had for less than 6 months and it's already randomly stopped working
