Decent Fan

Joseph E., Newegg
6 December 2009
  • Summary: When my Mobo chipset HSF went out I got this one. It did the job but I expect it will fail shortly after two years. I will not be buying this fan again due to the dust issue.
  • Pros: Took alomost 2 years before the fan started to squike. I suppose that's a good thing because fans are expected to fail, right? Then fan it replaced failed after 6 months...The heat sink snaps that are intended to clip to the motherboard are very strong and secure.
  • Cons: The way that the heat sink fins fold over creates a perfect area for dust to collect. There have been many a times where I open my case to clean it out and the entire heat sink area is blocked with dust.
