Summary: Still 4 eggs because build quality is nice and they look cool. Also the covers slide on and off easily.
Pros: The overall build quality is high and it seems like it might last awhile. Simple to install IF you open your case ALL the way up (this is part of the con). Take off the covers and it looks sweet!
Cons: I feel like it could run quicker and push more air, there maybe away to do it, but as it connects to molex I could think of many specific easy way to do it. Because the bracket is detachable, without it if you have a case that supports "snap -in" screw-less drive bays it won't work with these, so...
Summary: I just needed the fans for a case mod project and to buy the fans separately would have been over $10 each... saved some money and put the leftover parts in my spare parts bin for a project to be conceived later!
Pros: 3 40mm fans for half the price you would pay for them individually. It also has a filter to help keep the dust out of your system... but I just wanted the fans.
Cons: None really... I'm not using it on my system but have had a similar unit in the past and it worked pretty well at its intended purpose.
Summary: Note: With the APEVIA CORP. X-MASTER-AL/500 case the hard drive mounts just fine, there is no place to attached the fans so i had to just slide it into the 5.25 slot thankfully was a tigh fit and holds with out screws. It works for me but may not be optimal for all.
Pros: Great concept converts a 5.25 drive bay into a 3.5 hard drive bay. Good solution for me since my case only had one 3.5 hard drive slot and I needed two Hard drives and only one DVD player. Helps keep hard drive cool.
Cons: Does not come with instruction but with a little trial and error can figure it out. The fans are a little loud but kind to be expected to me. Not the toughest accessory and could be made a little better.
Summary: i have 4 of these in the front of my cooler master scout sniper case, and the air flow is amazing. a nice cool breeze blowing through my case, across my motherboard and out the back through the corsair H50 radiator with push pull fans on it.
Pros: excellent airflow, looks great, built in dust filters, uses very little power, puts extra drive bays to good use.
Cons: none that i can think of, except that there are no led's
Summary: I originally bought this as a case fan. I then excitedly realized that, for me, using it for what it was designed for would be best for air flow, a lot better for air flow. But I couldn't get it to mount in conjunction with the included brackets. They are way too cheap and flimsy.
Pros: Looks great Worth keeping in your case for air flow if you can get it cheap
Cons: Costs two and a half times what it should No instructions (could not figure how to use it in conjunction with hard drive) Two of these (six fans) moved less air than your standard 80mm fan that everyone knows and loves I would not try to remove the filter - it looks flimsy
an air cooling kit for your hard drive, one of the most pointless computer products ive ever used.
6 March 2012
Excerpt: In a world where performance is everything it's no surprise that you can literally cool everything inside a computer. Not too long ago I was given the StarTech triple fan hard drive cooling kit, which is a mouthful to say a couple of times.
Summary: es fácil de montar, sin engorro ninguno. cumple su función de crear flujo de ventilación en el pc. hay que estar pendiente del filtro en entornos polvorientos, sino disminuye sensiblemente el caudal.
