Very nice for work

John G., Newegg
11 September 2012
  • Summary: Won this in a Counter-Strike tournament at GeekKon (Madison, WI, every September), and have been using it as a replacement for my battery powered fan at work. It's fantastic for that application, the ladies in my office always crank our thermostat up to the high seventies and turn on their space...
  • Pros: - Was Free (won it at a LAN gaming tournament) - Perfect airflow for a desktop work fan in a hot office - USB Powered (I had a similar one that was "D battery" powered. That was severely unfortunate and leaked battery acid) -Nice stand
  • Cons: - No adjustable speeds - Airflow might be too weak for some (it's fine to get a small breeze going on a desk, but otherwise it isn't anything to write home about) - Price (here on newegg it's like $25-30, that's a heck of a lot $$ for this, but it does work pretty well so I guess you are getting ...

Good but not Great

Paul C., Newegg
16 March 2011
  • Summary: It's not a bad fan, but fulfills a certain niche for a case intake fan, some may try it on a heatsink or radiator due to it's static pressure (I've tried it on a Thermalright Silver Arrow) but I don't think it does enough to warrant usage there.
  • Pros: - High static pressure - Very quiet - Got 2 during the 20% off all fans promo, so combined price was fairly cheap. - Nice sleeving.
  • Cons: - A bit weak in airflow, I am aware it does 35CFM max, but still weaker than I expected it to be overall. - Molex connector on the fan doesn't have both male/female connectors - Tested it in an open air environment where I had a piece of paper a meter away and the fan barely moves the paper just ...

Not Bad Or Great

Allan E., Newegg
12 March 2011
  • Summary: If you're going to get a Silverstone AP fan thinking it will move a good amount of air, get the 180mm (which is supposed to be GREAT), or try the 140mm. This fan is OK, but falls kind of short compared to those 2.
  • Pros: Feels slightly heavier and more solid than the avg. fan (probably because of the extra plastic for the grille), cable sleeve used has a pretty tight weave which is good if you want your case interior to look tidy, voltage adapter cable (should come with all fans, I thnk)
  • Cons: "The AP121 was designed for use as a case intake fan where cooling object at a distance is required. At 1500rpm, the AP121 is designed as a quiet alternative to much faster spinning fans." Not entirely true in my experience. I used it as intended, to intake cooler air towards my CPU heatsink over...

  • Summary: + Mycket fokuserad luftström - Mycket högljudd på höga varv - Ej PWM Passar utmärkt som insugsfläkt. Till skillnad mot vanliga fläktar så är luftströmmen fokuserad, klart positivt.
