Easy Install

Angela R., Newegg
28 November 2013
  • Summary: It covers most of the memory modules on my Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 motherboard - so I should install the memory first.
  • Pros: Easy to install. Works great. I have installed several CPU coolers (on AMD processors) and this was by fair the easiest to install. It seams to keeping my phenom II x4 980 cpu cool. I'm not a gamer, so I have not overclocked it.

Kung Fu Silent

Nelson L., Newegg
31 July 2012
  • Summary: Install the heatsink before connecting the mobo to the case or remove all memory sticks they will interfere.
  • Pros: Cheap as it is good quality and for the price it can't be beat; silent, and easy to install. Comes with everything. Great for HTPC because you don't hear that whining sound and it is better than the stock fan.
  • Cons: I wish it was under $25.

It's Quiet!

DJ P., Newegg
18 June 2012
  • Summary: Graduating from the stock Phenom II fan (small jet engine) to this was a very welcome change. I don't closely monitor heat in this particular computer, but I've had no shutdowns due to overheating, so that makes me happy. And no more airplanes are taking off from my desk, so that makes me happier.
  • Pros: Very Quiet. Short, so it fits in tight spots (but wide, so take care). Did I mention quiet?
  • Cons: None that I could find.

Cool CPU fan

AARON H., Newegg
30 April 2012
  • Summary: Easy to install and gets the job done. Stock cooler could not keep an AMD x2 5600+ below 60C so I looked for another solution. Paired it with some Arctic Silver 5 and the CPU is now at 41C at idle. I will be looking at Scythe products for my cooling needs first based on cost, design, & performance.
  • Pros: Very good cooling performance Attractive design Easy to install
  • Cons: None

Just what I needed

Philip T., Newegg
12 April 2012
  • Summary: I have it cooling a A8-3870k, idles
  • Pros: Fits with room to spare in a LIAN LI PC-Q25B mini-itx setup. Fits a ASRock A75M-ITX perfectly. Doesn't require back-plating for installation, it installs like a stock AMD cooler. Uses the 4 pin Motherboard setup pwm. easy installation silent (using motherboard to make fan run at low RPMs)
  • Cons: Uses a 100mm fan and not something easy to replace.. but i already knew of this before i bought.

I love these Scythe CPU Coolers

Hector D., Newegg
6 April 2012
  • Summary: They work fine with the Intel Turbo Boost.
  • Pros: These are about 65 mm tall, so they work well in compact cases. I have one in all our micro ATX systems. I have not had any clearance issues with thw DIMM memory slots, because I don't have any memory with the tall heat sinks.
  • Cons: These are not meant for a cpu that is going to be overclocked.
