Amazing for Sandy Bridge

Stephen K., Newegg
28 December 2011
  • Summary: The fan on the heatsink is only about 1 inch from my 5870, but there is plenty of clearance on top, so I don't think it really affects the air flow. The CPU is cool, so not an issue.
  • Pros: Cooler does an amazing job on my 2600k. It is idling right now at 29C! I have it OC'd @ 4.3GHz, and under load it barely goes into the 50's. Soooo much better temperatures than my last i7 s1366.
  • Cons: I suppose the size.

Quiet and Effective Cooling

John D., Newegg
25 June 2011
  • Summary: I purchased this to replace the OEM hsf that accompanied my wife's Phenom II 1100T. I was tired of the noise. I'm running stock clock speeds, but I wanted quiet cooling. This did exactly what I needed. Note: This had no problem clearing G Skill Ripjaws RAM on a Gigabyte 870A-UD3 mobo.
  • Pros: Nearly silent Effective Cooling OEM hsf ~ 65C at sustained load (and loud) Mugen 2 ~ 59C at sustained load (but nearly silent)
  • Cons: None

Great Cooler

Sean R., Newegg
22 February 2010
  • Pros: Keeps my Athlon x4 2.6 @3.25 idle @ 20 and never has got above 36 on load.
  • Cons: You would need a decent sized case to fit this in.

Excellent

Hernan C., Newegg
20 February 2010
  • Summary: other than the fact you have to remove the motherboard to install (like most coolers) it was an easy install
  • Pros: Excellent, very quite and cools well.
  • Cons: had to change my OCZ reapers for the G.skill once because they did not fit.

Works Well, Cheap

Martin B., Newegg
15 February 2010
  • Summary: If you know what you're doing this is probably the best value cooler out there.
  • Pros: It keeps my i7 920 cool. It was cheap
  • Cons: It was a lot harder to install than I expected. I ended up having to put it on a different board though, and once you know what you're doing its easy. Just figuring out what to do is hard.

Massive heatsink

John H., Newegg
8 February 2010
  • Summary: Other than its sheer size, it's incredibly efficient and it does its job very well!
  • Pros: Very efficient heatsink. It has adaptors for a large variety of CPU sockets.
  • Cons: The side-mounted fan won't clear some memory sticks. The heatsink is very large, and its size does need to be taken into consideration during a build. It's also a bit of a pain to install.

Very cool...

Anonymous, Newegg
23 January 2010
  • Summary: I was originally going to use liquid cooling on my CPU, but this thing does just as good of a job for a mere fraction of the cost/hassle.
  • Pros: My Phenom IIx4 965 idles at 22°C! This thing works like a charm! The fan is extremely quiet, although I doubt I could hear it over the others I have in the case. Installation was only hampered by the shear size of this thing, but nothing too difficult, and totally worth it.
  • Cons: Hmm... the size? Yep, make sure you have a case big enough to fit this beast.

nice cooler

Alexander A., Newegg
4 January 2010
  • Summary: Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5
  • Pros: Works as described, cools down my CPU much better than the original Intel cooler. The idle is ~50C. Installation was easy on my motherboard, doesn't consume much space, allowing me to put additional memory.
  • Cons: None so far.
