A bit loud

Peter S., Newegg
13 December 2012
  • Summary: Overall - definitely worth the price.
  • Pros: It is quite powerful, pushes a lot of air. The variable speed adjuster is a nice touch.
  • Cons: It is loud on full speed, so installing the speed adjuster is pretty much required. Turning it down a little bit with that makes it silent.

good fan

Andrew A., Newegg
26 November 2012
  • Summary: I use it as a side fan in an older machine. It's a bit noisy at high speed, but it's the noise of the air being moved. So I mostly run it at about 1/3 of its maximum speed. Still it's good to know you have some control over the air flow and can increase the speed if need be.
  • Pros: Moves air. Not too noisy. Comes with a controller. Attractively priced.
  • Cons: The controller has incorrect wiring, or labeling, at least mine does. You can power the fan through the controller only with the molex connector, No biggie, but something for Rosewill to take note of.

Wow, great 80mm fan.

Joshua H., Newegg
29 September 2012
  • Summary: Tried to buy a 80 mm fan on @mazon and vendor after vendor charged up to three times the amount of the product for shipping landing in the $20-30 dollar range.. I should never go anywhere else other than Newegg. Under ten bucks, free shipping and it had more than expected (adjustable dial). Thank you Newegg!
  • Pros: Solid fan, adjustable speed, comes with a dial that occupies an empty PCI slot opening. Great price.
  • Cons: N/A

Works

Michael F., Newegg
12 November 2011
  • Pros: Works in my Antec ISK-65 MicroATX case. Feels solidly built. Runs quiet and is being throttled by my mobo bios. Does a good job of evacuating that hot air.
  • Cons: None

It's a fan

Joseph M., Newegg
14 September 2011
  • Pros: It's a fan, it moves air. It's fairly quiet, I have it being throttled by my mobo, didn't install the supplied controls because a) I'm not the only one who uses the computer and I don't necessarily trust the other users to not mess with them and b) wiring those controls will add a extra pain when trying to do my wire management. One of the first pair I bought started failing soon after installation, but the warranty process through Rosewill was very simple and they we...

Nice fan that works

Phill V., Newegg
23 August 2011
  • Summary: I purchased the wrong fan (meant 120mm) but this one does the job and I'm hoping for a long life out of this fan.
  • Pros: Installed this fan to replace the back (sleeve) fan on our Web Server. So far it's kept everything around 10 degrees and isn't even cranked up all the way (around 75 to 80%).
  • Cons: None as of right now.

Great fan, VERY quiet.

J&L S., Newegg
13 June 2008
  • Summary: I am using it as a CPU fan, mated to the stock heatsink for my Phenom X4 9600 and at about 25% speed it keeps my CPU at about 48*C. If I turn it up all the way, it drops to somewhere around 42-44*C, but it loses its "silent" attribute.
  • Pros: The DB rating actually seems to be too high. With it in my case I cannot even hear it unless it is on high, and even then it is just a very quiet whirring sound. Nice, wrapped cables (on the fan) keep things looking neat. And it comes with a speed controller. Also comes with a black fan grill. For $6 you can't go wrong.
  • Cons: Only the cables on the fan are wrapped, the cables for the control are still open and ugly.

The Best Case Fan Value

Steve H., Newegg
7 June 2008
  • Summary: Even though all wires are marked, a simple wiring diagram would be helpful. It's confusing that the 3-pin MB connector is only for fan speed and the fan has to be powered by the 4-pin molex. I also modified the mounting bracket and put the controllers on an empty 5¼" bay cover. Two controllers fit there nicely.
  • Pros: Great value for a fan, controller and grill. Bought several and all work well. Quiet on high speed and silent on low speed. Two fans dropped my case temp 10° C at 1600 rpm intake and 2900 rpm exhaust. CPU and HD temps also dropped significantly. Best looking case fan packaging that I've ever seen!
  • Cons: The new fan screws tend to strip easily - don't over tighten them! No wiring diagram included. Worst looking fan that I've ever seen! Rough surface finish on the fan blades create unnecessary turbulence and noise.

Good flow, variable

Barbara V., Newegg
7 January 2007
  • Summary: AMD Athlon 4000+ @ 2640mHz, 1 gig Rosewill Value DDR400 @ 440, EVGA 7600GT oc'ed 15%.
  • Pros: Great air flow. I had one 80mm side fan(intake) and another 80mm on the back for exhaust. I made both of those exhaust in the back, and put this one on the intake and that lowered my temps by 4-5c, which is huge for just one fan addition. I always run it on high, because I'm not too worried about noise, but even turned all the way down, it kept my temps 2-3 below normal. I'm gonna get two m,ore to replace my old ones in the back. My CPU idled at 36 before this fan, 32...
  • Cons: The screws that came with the fan are pretty much useless unlkess you can find a right size nut to fit, or if you're installing it on a heatsink. I had to find some extra screws to make it work

Nice

Joshua M., Newegg
8 December 2006
  • Summary: This is a great fan for the price, it has a sleeved cable, controller, and grill that come with it, and for this price that is a really great deal. It seems like Rosewill is starting to look like a promising company.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, Quiet, Comes with controller, comes with flat black grill, looks good in my pc, and 2 ball bearing bearings.
  • Cons: Fan controller is on a card slot, though it can easily be modded elsewhere.
