Good Little Fan - Not that Silent Though

David J., Newegg
7 August 2014
  • Summary: I had reviewed these fans earlier and stated that they aren't advertised as being silent. I was wrong about that, and so this updated review will reflect the fans as advertised. I removed an egg since the fans certainly aren't silent, but left 4 other eggs since they are pretty nice fans otherwise.
  • Pros: Moves a ton of air! Blue LEDs look great - very deep blue, two of these will be bright enough to light up a good portion of your case, or your whole case if it's small.
  • Cons: Not silent as advertised. They are the loudest fans in the room. I am using these in an HTPC and even though they aren't very loud at 10 ft away, they are certainly audible.

Great Little Fan

David J., Newegg
1 August 2014
  • Summary: My HTPC sits in the entertainment center and these fans are at the back of it. They light up the small space nicely and the fan noise is minimal from a distance, unnoticeable with something playing. I would buy Rosewill fans again.
  • Pros: Who uses 80mm fans nowadays? Case and fan manufacturers are moving away from them in favor of the larger sizes. 120mm and 140mm fans move more air and can be much quieter when doing so. I haven't had to buy an 80mm fan in some time, so I was unsure who to go to for a good fan. Enter Rosewill. I have purchased their products before and they've never let me down, but for things like case fans I usually go for bigger name brands. This was a first for me, and I'm glad I w...
  • Cons: The screws turned out to be of lower quality, and screwing them in requires a bit of elbow grease since you'll be threading the holes on the fan. Most cases nowadays come with a few sets of fan screws, so I ended up not suing them.

This fan is dope.

justin c., Newegg
9 June 2014
  • Summary: I found some software that let me manage the rpm of the fan. I take it down to 1500rpm. I can barely hear it at that point. I always wondered about that slot on the back panel. Fanned!
  • Pros: This fan fits in the only slot on the rear panel of my CM 690 II Advanced. It's pretty close to the cpu back plate. This fan will help with the cpu temp. It also gives the rest of the motherboard a nice blowing from behind. The fan led's are a nice bright blue. It can really light up your case/room depending on where you put it.
  • Cons: It's loud by default. I will not deduct an egg. See other thoughts.
