  • Summary: Pros: Cheap, Quiet, Allows the addition of another fan. Cons: Can be a pain to install in existing setups. Mounting with the supplied hardware is do-able, but will require a fair bit of work.

Good CPU Cooler

John, FutureShop
11 August 2011
  • Summary: I bought this to replace a broken ruby orb cooler. The fan broke and can't be replaced, like this one can. Installation was easier than I anticipated for my AMD Phenom X4 9850 cpu. Idle temp dropped from 37C to 31C. The fan on mine is quiet. It has brackets and screws to mount an additional fan if desired. The rest of the hardware was skimpy. Luckily, I still had hardware from the ruby orb to use. I'm happy with it even tho' it is pricier than it should be.

RocketFish CPU Cooler

Chris, FutureShop
20 September 2010
  • Summary: Pros: Price isn't bad. Quiet. Cons: Thermal Compound. Mounting hardware is flimsy. Difficult to install on certain boards. Installing this cooler took almost 40 minutes, most of which was spent fighting with the provided mounting hardware for AM2 style boards. The Thermal Compound has the consistency of silly putty and was difficult to spread evenly on the cooler. The cooler doesn't fully cover the CPU, on each side there is 1-2mm of the actual CPU showing.

RocketFish CPU Cooler

Andre Bernard, FutureShop
11 June 2010
  • Summary: Pros: Easy installation. Very quiet. Does a good job for the low price. Cons: 4 pin power cable means it wont work with older 3 pin motherboards. Applying the thermal paste was somewhat tricky. Copper tubing resting directly on the CPU leaves gaps you have to be careful to fill adequately.
