Prolimatech Black Megahalems CPU Cooler Review

eteknix.com
2 August 2013
  • Conclusion: Prolimatech’s Black Megahalems currently costs about £49.99 in the UK and €59.90 in Europe .If you perhaps feel that the Black Megahalems is not to your taste, or you just don’t want to pay extra for a colour scheme you can’t see or don’t appreciate then you can pick up the “normal” silver version for £42.99 or €49.99 which is a fair bit cheaper.
  • Pros: Black finish is amazing, Superior performance, Solid mounting system, Excellent accessories/bundle, LGA 2011 support (which it really needed to have)
  • Cons: RAM clearance isn’t great, On the expensive side, 140mm fans add about 10-15mm to the heatsinks height as RAM modules force them upwards making the total height more like 170/175mm.

  • Excerpt: I finally got my hands on the "cooler heard 'round the web". I have seen nothing but praises from reviewers and owners already. This time I get to see for myself what all the hype is about and put this sample through its paces just like the rest and see how it stands up to our T.E.C.C.

Prolimatech Megahalems

Legion Hardware
2 July 2009
  • Summary: It is like some new alloy has been discovered in the past 6 months. For what almost seemed like forever the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme dominated our charts, delivering the best cooling performance of any cooler we had seen. While there were quite a few air coolers released around the same time that offered a similar level of performance, none really surpassed it. Then along came the Cooler Master V8 late last year, which really shook things up.

  • Conclusion: It seems that with the new Prolimatech Megahalems we have a real winner on our hands! This cooler has been engineered for excellence and it performs above and beyond expectations in nearly every test. • Pros: - Great quality, - Great performance, - Easy installation, - Good price / performance ratio
  • Cons: - No fan included, - No second set of wires included to mount a second fan, - It is a BIG cooler

Prolimatech Megahalems CPU Cooler

Tech Reviews
16 July 2009
  • Conclusion: Looking solely at the performance aspects of the Prolimatech Megahalems, it is pretty impressive. At stock speeds it is able to edge out one of the most highly regarded coolers on the market and at overclocked speeds stay within a couple of degrees of it. The cooler incorporates some interesting technology such as the dual fin stack arrays and the soldered joining methods and they combine to make a very impressive heatsink; a few tweaks such as offsetting the heatpipes...
