The NH-U12P is really suited for a number of different users. If you’re looking for some active cooling that is going to be extremely quiet, it’s an excellent choice. At the same time, if you want to do a bit of overclocking then it’s going to handle most things you throw at it. It could easily cool our Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 3GHz without any dramas. If you’re happy to spend the money, there aren’t many other coolers that can perform as well as the U12P. Read more

Ever since the first Noctua coolers we've tested way back in 2005, we've been eagerly waiting for their next one. Well, I'm glad the wait is over ... and it didn't disappoint either. In fact, I was extremely pleased with the thermal performance of the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU cooler. It produced very good temperatures both during idle and at full load. It performs slightly better than Spire's TherMax II, and easily matched our favourite OCZ Gladiator Max. The... Read more

The Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 performed as expected, producing the stellar cooling performance that we expect from Noctua coolers. With the ability to add a second Noctua NF-P12 fan, you can improve your cooling performance by a few more degrees. The cooler is fairly tall, so that is something to keep in mind when building your system. Surprisingly using a Noctua NH-C12P with a x58 mother board produced slightly better temperatures decreases than the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 .... Read more

The Noctua NH-U12P performs admirably well. You can run the NH-U12P without fans and still get very good cooling performance, but you’ve got to remember to have good airflow in your case to achieve this. Not everyone will see the same results as I achieved in my testing. The NH-U12P can be used to easily overclock the Corei5 750 on air, I’m sure I could have easily achieved even more of a higher overclock with this cooler. The thick back plate does bother me a bit,... Read more

  5. Noctua NH-U12P SE2 CPU Cooler

The Noctua NH-U12P SE2 is a great cooler. I was already impressed by its predecessor, the NH-U12P and Noctua has managed to improve on it with the inclusion of an extra NF-P12 fan. The build quality and design are excellent and compatibility is a non-issue. Installation was also extremely simple – the clearly illustrated manual was a big help. In terms of performance, I have no complaints. This is a cooler that performs very well. It even kept my overlocked quad-core... Read more

Overall an excellent product, good instructions, great manufactured finished and thermal specs. My OC E6850 @ 3.76MHz running Prime 95 doesn't go over 58ºC, which is certainly very good considering room temperature is 24ºC. I would have preferred PWM fan control but I get by adjusting it with speedfan and not going over 95% speed, to me anything above that becomes loud. The biggest issue I find is its size when fans are installed. They are so close to the DIMM´s that... Read more

I used this cooler in it's available 1366 configuration and it keeps my X58 Classified/ i7 975 well under 30'C at idle and below 50'C when working really hard.  I used the second fan to replace the noisey a$$ fan that came standard in my case, so that extra fan was a nice bonus as my overall case noise is way down now and it is a pleasant sounding white noise ta boot. The spring clips to hold the fan onto the sink are designed that way for a reason and I... Read more

Had bought the Intel Core™ 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz and an ASUS P5Q Deluxe, P45, Socket-775 from Komplett ( both great value ) and wanted a good quality cooler for OCing the Quad-core - Noctua produce great cooling products, and have motherboard compatibility lists ( the P5Q Deluxe is ok with this cooler mounted horizontally ). This cooler is Top quality, 2 award-winning fans with y-connector, and bracket mounting system for all types of motherboard, so it's future-proof... Read more
