Noctua Performance and Quality!

Vladimir M., Newegg
16 March 2016
  • Summary: I'm overall really happy with this cooler. does exactly what I want it to do and more. in a i7-6700K SFF build and it's library quiet.
  • Pros: - Dead Quiet - Keeps an I7-6700K under 27 Degrees when not under load. - Under load doesn't go above 48 (to date) - No LEDs. (5*) - Well protected Cable - Included thermal paste for more than 1 application
  • Cons: - Wires going coming from the fan are not long enough in my opinion - it would be interesting to see Noctua create a snug somewhere along the fan or the heatsink itself to hide the cable away so it doesn't flop around like it owns the place (but that's a design issue, not a product issue)

Compact and quite

Kristopher t., Newegg
24 February 2016
  • Pros: I bought this for a low profile mini itx motherboard and case. It overhangs the socket a little bit but is well clear of the main memory or any other components. With the low RPM adapter the fan is virtually silent when idle, and reasonably quite under full load. My idle temperatures with a 65 wa...
  • Cons: For me, none.

Nice! Quiet. Keeps 4790Ks cool.

Scott F., Newegg
12 February 2016
  • Summary: There is enough thermal paste (grey/silver in color) for a pea size application with a little left over. Excellent packaging with dense grey foam. They are barely audible with the case off and I did not use the noise dampening cable that came with the coolers.
  • Pros: I bought two of these for i7 4790Ks even though they're only rated for 65 watts TDP or less. They are extremely quiet. My CPUs (not overclocked) idle at 29-31c and playing Fallout 4 at 33-35c. I quit the game and had Speccy running already and that's what it read so maybe it goes a couple degrees...
  • Cons: None.

It is a true Noctua grade.

  • Pros: Beautiful and well designed. Good material Very, very quiet Well suit my H-frame mini CPU temp 29-31C idle
  • Cons: There is always one side being blocked. Either the RAM or the CPU power supply heatsink. Luckily, this wont influence the cooling much

Great Fan, Quiet!

Alexander M., Newegg
9 January 2016
  • Summary: I would recommend to anyone who has a small form factor case that needs a great cooling solution.
  • Pros: I bought this for my HTPC to cool my CPU. It fit very well into the small case I had it enclosed in and the fan makes not noise what-so-ever unless you hold your ear right up to the case itself. Keeps the CPU nice and cool as well. Installation was really fast.
  • Cons: There really was nothing I did not like about this product.

Good enough value for my needs

Anonymous, Newegg
4 October 2015
  • Summary: Most Intel CPUs run hot, especially the latest ones due to the narrow thickness and continuing defiance of companies to conform to Moore's Law. I only have a 4790 on an 1150 motherboard in a Mini-ITX case but I wanted it that way.
  • Pros: Noctua quality; reasonable price, mostly favorable reviews at all web sites
  • Cons: This cooler won't bring my CPU to ambient temperature but, after a few days for the thermal paste to melt in, it remains in low 30s 9Celsius, of course)

Expensive and worth it

Bryan F., Newegg
2 October 2015
  • Pros: I took a chance and it's really nice. Idles around 25C - I don't really rage on my comp too hard but I haven't gotten it to break 55C when I have. It's on an i5-4590S (65W TDP) so it's not exactly being challenged either, just perfect for a reasonable processor and tiny case.
  • Cons: No cons, you just need to take care you don't move it around too much while getting the first screws going in the back.

People are using it wrong

Anonymous, Newegg
29 September 2015
  • Pros: Extremely low profile, you will be hard pressed to find a cooler smaller than this. Quiet, I never hear this thing running, even under heavy gaming load. Tiny footprint, literally compatible with everything. Cools just as expected (see other thoughts).
  • Cons: None, this performs exactly how you should expect it to (see other thoughts).

Great product

John T., Newegg
17 August 2015
  • Summary: This thing is built sturdy. No cheap parts on it. It feels like it was built to last. Almost like only engineers made it, without the uncesseasy input from some Marketing guy who wants it to "look cool"
  • Pros: Contains High quality parts. Pretty heavy. Has extra screws if you want to install a larger 92x25mm fan, rather than have the A9x14mm fan. Comes with plenty of Thermal Compound NT-H1. Comes with an L.N.A. which attaches to the fan cable, and slows the fan speed to reduce noise.
  • Cons: must be installed directly to the motherboard. Unlike most that have an adapter you connect to the back of the motherboard, this screws directly to it. Not at all a deal breaker. It just makes removal a little more difficult.

For the strong silent type

Joshua, Amazon
22 July 2015
  • Summary: I purchased the AMD version of this CPU cooler before this version awhile back and I was extremely impressed in the build quality, audio levels and most definitely the performance in this product.
