Summary: I say this cooler lives to it's well known high performance and maybe even more then i expected, for the price as well, tho the size and weight can be something think about the performance is unmatchable and to me that's the big deal and it delivers
Pros: Absolutely amazing performing cooler, I knew ordering that there was high quality to be expected but putting it into my computer and seeing the numbers was simply amazing my FX6350 at 4.2Ghz what was normally running upto 145F on load on the old cooler will not pass over 110F on this noctua it's simply amazing The noise of this cooler rely is basically silent, the noise of the air flow i would say i louder then the fans themself even when they speed up, superb
Cons: It is a massive cooler and makes getting ram sticks on off what i had do to swap, really difficult, what would help is if the fans where a bit easier take off but for me the clamps hold the fan on there really dam hard i don't want rip the thing off my board trying get the fan off, but meh, it isn't something that i have deal with more then a few times ever so not a big deal
Summary: Be sure your ram will be compatible with this behemoth here is a noctua site link where you can check. http://www.noctua.at/main.php?
Pros: Cool, so cool that 78 degree ambient temps and a vcore of 1.4 on an i5-2500k are not enough to tip me over 70 c on the prime 95 blend test. Seating this thing is a breeze! Instructions are great, and Noctua's customer support is fantastic. A lot of people fault this cooler for its aesthetics but I've never really thought it looked bad, particularly the metal used on the twin towers, it is very cool, menacing shade of grey. The nf-f12 fans included are some of the best...
Pros: Solid construction, high quality materials. Fans are incredible. The mounting solution was a piece of cake to install. Its cooling my 4670k very well. I seem to have lost the silicon lottery, needing 1.265v to get a stable 4.3Ghz overclock. Even at this high of a voltage it idles under 30C and does not ever hit 70C while playing crysis 3.
Cons: Not necessarily a con - this thing is HUGE! I had an Antec 900 and needed to remove the plastic fan holder on the side panel for it to fit. I have since upgraded to a Thermaltake Core v71 extreme and there is no space issue.
Summary: I did have to remove the heatsinks from my corsair vengeance memory in order to get the cooler to fit but I already knew that I was going to have to do this. Also make sure that your case is wide enough for this to fit. My old case I was planning on reusing was not wide enough so I had to get a new one.
Pros: Absolutely amazing cooling abilities. I have yet to see my cpu peak 40 deg. Even on hot days with both my machines running in the same room. I was afraid the additional two fans would greatly increase the noise but I was wrong. I couldn't even hear them right after i installed the cooler. If you are thinking about getting a high end cooler look no further.
Summary: The only thing I didn't expect from this cooler was it's size. Believe me when I say this thing is huge. Be sure to measure, measure and measure again for certainty that I will fit in your case and not obstruct your ram.
Pros: -Looks and feels well built -Comes with 2 fans for optimal cooling -Instruction and installation is quick and easy -Cooling ability
Cons: Not the best looking heatsink, but It'll really get the job done.
Summary: All I can say is, I had the foresight to purchase an aftermarket-cooler-friendly case, so I had plenty of room behind the motherboard for the mounting bracket, and a perfect amount of space for the (really big!) cooling system above the CPU. It comes with decent thermal paste and all the mounting hardware for the wide array of sockets it supports.
Pros: This thing is a beast, but it cools so well! I was using the Intel stock cooler on my 4771 and seeing the temps go over 88°C - no overclocking, not a video game, just running Lightroom to process images! Decided to pick this up after reading the reviews and it's a dream to install, and brought my peak CPU temperature down to 55°C. Whew! A six year warranty? Very nice!
Cons: It's huge and may or may not fit in your case. Check first!
Summary: this is my very first custom built personal computer, and im very pleased i went with this fan. I didnt put this in the cons section because its most likely due to operator error...that being said: Im pairing this with an ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard, and i got a CPU fan error until i went into the bios and set the low cpu fan alarm setpoint below 200 rpm. no worries though, never had temps get above 60c.
Pros: Max cpu temp ive seen after bench tests and stress testing with various programs/games is 59.5 C (the fans didnt even have to speed up more than about 800 RPM) very straight-forward installation and the included thermal glue appeared to be of high quality. printed instructions were easy to follow.
Cons: So this thing is huge. please make sure you visit Nactua's website and follow the links to verify the motherboard your pairing with this fan is compatible. with my mother board i had to be very careful to install the ram because i did this after i had already secured the heat sink and fans in place. (you might want to look into installing components that will be around this heat sink prior to putting the glue and screws in)
