Summary: This bad product drew first blood. literally. If you need serious cooling power, save yourself the nightmarish headache and just go with a closed loop water cooling setup. they are much easier to install and work around and they keep your cpu REALLY cool. Its what I did after RMAing this dysfunctional product, and I've idled in the 20's Celsius ever since!
Pros: Less expensive buy a narrow margin than water cooling. Less failure points...
Cons: Top Cons: 1.) Way way way way too big. This thing was unbelievably awkward. talk about sucking all the fun outta the build. trying to maneuver fan header cables, ram, cpu power hookups ect around this thing - OUTSIDE OF THE BOX NO LESS - was a complete nightmare! insanely difficult to install and would only fit one way which made for a not optimal fan direction mounting. 2.) Pre-tensioned screws. They aren't kidding when they say pre-tensioned. It practically took an ...
Summary: I know this is going to be impossible, but if I can, I will try to avoid another purchase.
Pros: Was really looking forward to this after buying for such a good price.
Cons: I must have been unlucky or the system is messed up. Had a really bad experience. I purchased this item and got it with the most important part missing. I return it and now waiting forever for a refund. I don't have the luxury to wait for over 10days for a simple refund. Apparently getting a refund takes longer thank getting a purchase charged to your account. Something need to change.
Cons: It would be in your best interest to not deal with Noctua when it comes to computer hardware. I just got the CPU cooler in the mail, and the components are scattered in the box without wrapping like someone just threw them in there absentmindedly. I am missing several pieces and am currently having to mail the product back to the company in order to receive a replacement. There is no way to contact Noctua directly, except through email that goes unanswered, so you hav...
Pros: From what I have read and heard this is one of the best 2011 coolers.
Cons: Be careful what you wish for. This cooler will not fit any 2011 board that has high memory heat sinks, and who doesn't want high heat sinks! I ended up going watercooled. 2011 boards are a pain to find a cooler that fits over your memory. What are these system architects thinking! Oh I know, that 2011's are dead, on to the next architecture!
Poor engineering. WAY to expensive. Should be $25 tops

Cons: This is junk. It puts to much stress on the motherboard. The mechanism used to connect the fans is cheap and prone to bend. You had better get it right the first time and never have to take the cooler off. The fans rely on metal wire spring tension snapping through the sink fins. For the amount of money you pay you would expect a more professional setup. JUNK. It's in the garbage now. I can count on 2 fingers how many products I have given a negative review over 25 ye...
Excerpt: Quiet. Looks good in case. I am receiving the similar temperatures as I was on the stock cooler that comes with the i7-950. I applied the TIM properly, tried more than a single application, even tried different TIMs. My item came with an clear nick in the base. I wrote to Noctua and they asked for pictures. I offered images and the responded that this was typical.
Excerpt: It does what it is supposed to do very properly. Keeps my 950 @stock (oc soon adequate) incredibly cool. Efficiency deserved full 5 eggs. BUT SEE CONS Below. I bought this through my parents who had been in the US and came back to Pakistan just a couple of days ago. I was the initial person to open the box and from the incredibly beginning i knew there was something wrong, the box opening tab was sealed shut by generic transparent tape, i could hear screws screwdriver in...
