Summary: I owned two of these prior and bought a few more to vent my cabinet. I combined it with a thermostat to turn off and on when the cabinet was on. My older fans were much louder and these are quiet enough that I no longer hear them even if they are on when there is not any noise in the house.
Summary: The power supply fan makes way more noise, and it is a high end quiet power supply. The only issue is that the different resistor cables to control speed are not labeled. You need to go online to find out what the colors mean. Otherwise it would be 5/5
Summary: I'm not going to dock it for price, because I knew what I was going to pay BEFORE I bought it. Won't dock it for color because it's also apparent what color it is BEFORE I bought it.
Pros: Super quality build, lots of attention to detail. The plastic is more durable, seems like a tougher plastic than a stock fan. Sleeved power cable, makes for clean install. Unable to hear it with ULNF adapter, had to put my hand over the fan to make sure it was working, and yes, it does push quite...
Cons: In-line resistors. So many other ways to slow down a fan, and they chose in-line resistors, and the worst part is, there's no indicator of which one is which. Blue, black, which is the ULNF and which is the LNF? I had to lookup on the web to figure out the BLUE is the quietest and the BLACK is th...
Summary: Since I ordered both a Noctua CPU cooler that had 2 fans, it came with 2 low-noise and 2 ultra low-noise adapters. I used the ultra-low noise adapters on the two of these fans that I purchased, and used the a regular low noise adapter on the CPU so i don't compromise the CPU cooling too much.
Pros: Cool and quiet! I bought two, and these in conjunction with a noctua cpu fan/heatsink knocked the noise level down of my PC a good 70 percent or so, and the temperature of my overall machine is cooler by several degrees C.
Cons: - The color. Wish they were black, but that doesn't change performance and value. These are awesome! - I knocked off a star because they should have come with the EXTRA low noise adapters (blue.) The cpu coolor I purchased came with 2 low-noise (black) adapters and 2 ultra-low noise adapters (blu...
Summary: I'm using three of these since I'm using a fanless power supply. The temps that I'm getting for the CPU run at about 30-33 C. I'm running two blowing in and only one blowing out. I wanted to pressurize it slightly so the air would be pushed into and out the power supply. it seems to be working.
Pros: Good amount of air is moved by these fans without having a lot of noise. If I'm about 8 to 10 feet I don't hear them running.
Pros: Nice fans. Excellent packaging and lots of accessories included. This is a pwm fan, not typical 3-pin; keep that in mind. I have always liked noctua for the quality of product, and this fan does not dissappoint.
Pros: I bought two of these fans to replace two Zalman fans that came with my GS1000 case. The Zalman's started to rattle very badly after about 1-2 years. The new Noctua fans are much quieter than the Zalman's were new. Build quality seems very good so far.
Cons: I don't like the color scheme. My case is black and my motherboard has red highlights, so having brown and tan in there looks plain ugly.
Summary: If you care about fans in your computer, then this is a great choice. If you are saying "WTF would someone spend that much on a fan when I can just crank up the audio?" then save your money for the next release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 .
Summary: I was expecting quite a bit from these Noctuas after their high general praise and decent reviews on hardware sites. Plus, their high price meant that they should be a premium product that performs decently right? I was fairly dissapointed though at the airflow this thing puts out.
