Excerpt: Noctua NF-S12B FLX Case Fan Review Noctua Armed with Noctua's 120mm NF-S12B FLX case fan, today we're looking at how you can improve the cooling performance of your case using aftermarket fans. Noctua should be no stranger to most of you, having established a name for themselves as providing high quality, low noise, well performing cooling solutions for computers.
Conclusion: The quality of Noctua fans has never been in question, they are extremely well designed and solidly constructed with quality bearings. The NF-S12B continued this tradition, offering good performance and a smooth low noise envelope perfect for those after a near silent or non-invasive sounding system.
Pros: Excellent build quality backed up by a 6 year warranty, Unique blade design, Quality long lasting bearing and drive system, Good balance of noise levels and performance, Open cornered frame for maximum HSF compatibility
Cons: Expensive, FLX nothing more than in-line adapters with resistors, Colour scheme not for everyone, Performance may not be high enough for some enthusiasts
Excerpt: This time we will review "backwards", ie based on price: 21 €. Why pay this money for a fan? What will there ever be back? Try to explain as simply as possible, as we usually do. For numbers and details, however, are all on the official website: http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=25&lng=en Noctua is an Austrian company that deals exclusively (only exception the NT-H1 ) with air cooling systems.
Excerpt: The Austrian based company Noctua has become very popular for their practically silent fan designs. What most didn’t know is that Noctua has job specific designs. They have the P12 series for CPU coolers and the S12 series for case fans. Succeeding the vastly successful NF-S12, the NF-S12B is a next generation quiet fan featuring Noctua’s advanced SCD2 technology as well as a new blade geometry with Bevelled Blade Tips that improves its predecessor’s airflow efficiency...
Excerpt: Noctua, makers of silent PC cooling components, sent us their newest fan: the NF-S12B FLX. With silence in mind, the NF-S12B was designed to produce the smallest amount of noise possible, while still pushing enough air to keep your computer cool. Can it live up to Noctua’s reputation for manufacturing super quiet, well performing fans and heatsinks? Read on to find out.
Excerpt: Today we're going to take a look at two Noctua case fans that look identical but are designed slightly different for different computer operating requirements. The first fan we tested is the Noctua NF-S12B ULN . This fan runs at two different speeds; 700 RPM or 500 RPM. The main feature of this particular fan is that it is designed to run as quietly as possible and still cool effectively.
Pros: Its quiet, cools effectively and is three speed adjustable.
Cons: As with the ULN version, it's pricier than other fans. It would be nicer to have a built in resistor in the fan with a switch that can be accessed from the back of the PC instead of having to switch adapters every time you want to change the speed.
Conclusion: Noctua, yet again, have been able to come up with a top quality product that pretty much excels in all departments. The airflow to noise ratio is awesome and this added airflow allows the fan to beat the likes of the NF-P12 and the Noiseblocker Multiframe series. Amazingly, despite the increased airflow, the noise has actually decreased making the fan virtually inaudible especially using the noise adapters that allow awesome flexibility for the user.
Pros: Great cooling/airflow, Low noise outputs, Anti-vibration mounts, Long-lasting
Cons: Expensive, Lower Static Pressure than NF-P12
