Summary: Bought this so I could enable motherboard control of fan speed on AMD CPU cooler. Not much point in that since this fan has to run a full or almost full speed to cool. Even at top speed it is quieter than the Cougar 140mm fan next to it. Using this in a nMedia wooden case with a Phenom quad core.
Summary: I bought this fan to replace the failed cooling fan in my 40-amp DC power supply. It's super quiet and moves plenty of air to keep the supply cool. Minus one star for the huge amount of packaging that just gets thrown away and adds to the cost.
Summary: I'm currently using several of Noctua's fans in various sizes; 120mm, 92mm, and this 80mm fan. Noctua makes an excellent product, but they still can't overcome the immutable fact that smaller computer fans are noisier than larger ones. I installed two of these in push/pull configuration to cool the CPU in my mini tower. There is also a Noctua 120 in there as an active front intake, and one of their 92's for exhaust. All fans blow towards the rear of the case.
Summary: Contacted Noctura support about a technical issue. The person who responded was "disinterested" and provided little value to the experience. While these are good fans, the thrifty shopper can do just as well and save a pile of money by going with something that is a LOT less expensive.
Pros: Seem to be quality fans
Cons: Purchased three to cool an older Antec case that was not designed with good cooling in mind. Disappointed that these fans don't seem to move more air then those that are MUCH less expensive. They are also not noticeably quieter than the less expensive fans. Considering the very high price I can't say that they perform any better than the el-cheapo fans.
Summary: I received my order today, expecting to switch out the pre-installed fans in my current PC build. It wasn't until I checked the connectors that it wasn't the fan(s) that I ordered (although the fans I received had a UPC sticker on it labeled as the PWM version). I already sent an email to Amazon requesting a replacement/refund of these fans, and would recommend future purchasers to either holding off purchasing these until Amazon/Cool Tech PC resolves this issue (as I...
Quiet if slowed down from 12v speed, but questionable value

Summary: I bought a couple of these fans along with a couple of other brands to replace the stock case fans that were too loud for an HTPC. The reviews and reputation of the brand led me to try a couple of these. The flexibility of the fan in terms of operating voltage range is a plus, and they are very smooth sounding fans, but in the end their value is highly questionable.
