Very quiet, at the cost of some airflow.

Anonymous, Newegg
  • Summary: Buy this fan for quietness and (I hope, based on bearing spec) longevity, not for max airflow.
  • Pros: The goal is "quiet fan with the best CFM-per-decibel", and the Noctua wins that competition. It's not the highest flowing 80mm 1800 RPM fan there is, but it is the quietest at those specifications. Practically silent under 1100 RPM, and still quieter than most other fans at full 1800 RPM. While t...
  • Cons: None, as long as you accept the fact that all 1800 RPM fans flow less than even a cheap 2400 RPM fan.

Nice and Quiet

Nicholas W., Newegg
15 December 2014
  • Summary: The fan itself is a very good quality product. Casing and the cabling are well done and very presentable. However, in order to achieve the quiet rating, it does sacrifice air flow.
  • Pros: It's very quite. The fan spins very smoothly. Came with mounting screws, which was nice. Cord comes with very sleek style wrapping, will be hard to burn if connected near CPU or other heat source. Decent RRM speed with noise control.
  • Cons: The brand only has 2 colours: A cream and this grey one. I wish they offered more colour options for build schemes, but that's personal preference. One main con: This is in Cubic Meters per HOUR. I was thinking this was a mistype but no it's not. While it still provides a good amount of air flow,...

Good quality

Brian J. Mcmahon, Amazon
7 December 2014
  • Summary: I use this with a fan controller to dial down the RPMs until it is almost silent. Most of my heat generating components are water cooled, but the case has four fans and I use them to keep heat from building up around the drives.

Awesome

Evelyn Salt, Amazon
22 September 2014
  • Summary: First impressions: Quality build and very sturdy. Easy to install and it damn near silent. I have to get right up next to my computer to hear this thing running. Love the low profile. Definitely worth it IMO

Quiet!

Scott C., Newegg
4 May 2014
  • Summary: Bought this so I could enable motherboard control of fan speed on AMD CPU cooler. Not much point in that since this fan has to run a full or almost full speed to cool. Even at top speed it is quieter than the Cougar 140mm fan next to it. Using this in a nMedia wooden case with a Phenom quad core.
  • Pros: Quiet, PWM, Quieter than fan it replaced.
  • Cons: Moves less air than fan it replaced.

Quiet, quiet, quiet

SC Engineer "SC Engineer", Amazon
27 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought this fan to replace the failed cooling fan in my 40-amp DC power supply. It's super quiet and moves plenty of air to keep the supply cool. Minus one star for the huge amount of packaging that just gets thrown away and adds to the cost.

'Noisy' By Noctua Standards

MadCarpenter, Amazon
27 January 2014
  • Summary: I'm currently using several of Noctua's fans in various sizes; 120mm, 92mm, and this 80mm fan. Noctua makes an excellent product, but they still can't overcome the immutable fact that smaller computer fans are noisier than larger ones.

  • Summary: I love this fan because it is quiet. My old fan made noise so bad, so I decided to change a new fan.
