Cheap. but very good.

Marc G., Newegg
23 March 2013
  • Summary: Get this if you have an old socket 478 Heatsink you need to change.
  • Pros: Took 30 seconds to install. Built solid, shipping was fast, much MUCH better than the stock old P4 fans. much sturdier also as it's not made out of stupid plastic.
  • Cons: None whatsoever.

  • Pros: Solid fan for the price. Replaced the one that was making noise. Average cooling, same as stock HP.
  • Cons: Not variable speed, but for less than $10 what can one expect.

  • Summary: I was able to fix the fan by unscrewing it from heatsink, remove sticker on back of fan and re-lubricate it with 3 drops of precision oil (bought from radio shack) It hasn't had any problems since doing this a little over 2 months.
  • Pros: Cheap, was easy to install on Asus motherboard. Quiet operation, Had no problems keeping CPU cool (See Cons).
  • Cons: Fan started to fail after 1 year & 2 months of operation causing the PC to shutdown due to CPU overheating.

Fabulous

14 November 2010
  • Summary: Can't even hear it really with the other 3 120's I have.
  • Pros: Install was a snap after carefully measuring my cpu bracket to make sure I was getting the right one. The pre-applied thermal paste made it that much easier thank you very much.
  • Cons: My 3.06 P4 needed this as the mobo it came from was an older dell and the dell's bracket was different though it did have a slightly larger cooling setup.

Does the job...

Anonymous, Newegg
24 October 2010
  • Summary: Will keep this aging P4 computer working as a second computer to my i7 for hopefully a couple of more years...
  • Pros: For the price and the fact it worked it get's an extra egg. Replaced a 8 year old Thermaltak fan/heatsink with temp control. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner as it ran at 5000RPM frequently...Swapped it with this new low cost model and running at a fixed 3500RPM...Quieter for sure. Definitely was...
  • Cons: Still not as quiet as I wish but a lot quieter than the Thermaltake fan had gotten to be.
