Cheap. but very good.

Marc G., Newegg
23 March 2013
  • Summary: Get this if you have an old socket 478 Heatsink you need to change.
  • Pros: Took 30 seconds to install. Built solid, shipping was fast, much MUCH better than the stock old P4 fans. much sturdier also as it's not made out of stupid plastic.
  • Cons: None whatsoever.

Quiet and effective

Chris W., Newegg
20 December 2011
  • Summary: I purchased this to replace my CPU fan that started running very loud. This was easy to install, and over a year later it's still doing it's job.
  • Pros: quiet, effective, and after a year it's still working.
  • Cons: None.

works as advertised

Ps, TigerDirect.com
11 December 2011
  • Summary: Not much else to say otherthan it works as advertised. The brackets to hold the fan in place came very very bent, almost 90 degrees in the very center, when it should have been straight. Since it was a replacement fan I had the old brackets and simply used those instead. Fan works just fine and was what I really wanted out of the product.

CPU cooler works like a charm

Don B, TigerDirect.com
15 November 2011
  • Summary: First, I was happy to find the right CPU cooler for an older XP PC. This one is inexpensive and worked perfectly. It even came with cooling paste. Couldn't be happier.

Heatsink doesn't seat properly

MIKE, TigerDirect.com
18 October 2011
  • Summary: It's a good fan but the heatsink doesn't seat properly in an Intel 478 motherboard. The bottom sides of the heatsink are not beveled to accomodate the standoffs in the CPU area of the mobo so it doesn't sit all the way on top of the CPU itself. As a result it overheats and shuts off the PC. Was able to use the fan on the old sink on a few PC's but not every time.

Noisy Fans

J, TigerDirect.com
16 September 2011
  • Summary: The fan is noisy, even worse than my old one. I also exchanged for another one, but same noise. My CPU is P4 2.8G. The CPU is not hot at all, but the fan is just noisy.

so-so

cookiejervis, TigerDirect.com
25 August 2011
  • Summary: The fan itself works quite well, as for the heat sink, not so well. After installing it, my cpu still turned off due to overheating. I place the fan into my old heatsink, and it been fine ever since. It was worth the price, even though the heatsink was absolutely useless.
