Summary: I have an AIO liquid cooling system that I had set up with the tubes going over the ram. I simply flipped the AIO around to solve the conflict -- but depending on your system that may not work.
Pros: Sturdy Easy to put together and install
Cons: If you've got a heatsink (liquid cool or air) that overlaps your ram, this will get in the way and you won't be able to use it direct over your ram.
Summary: I am aware that the USB 3.0 Location is different on all Motherboards, however, the power connector is always next to the DIMM Slots and all Stock AMD coolers are the same. I will RMA mine and file this as a lesson learned, no hard feelings Kingston.
Pros: Looks nice, neat idea
Cons: Never got to use. Unit was to big to install due to the location of my Motherboard Power Connector, USB 3.0 Connector and Stock AMD CPU cooler. Not sure what this unit is designed for, but it does not appear to be your everyday ATX Motherboard.
Summary: I am water cooling my Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X and because it is not a reference card layout i have to use a universal cooling block, which does not cover the ram or vrm 1 and 2...... I got this so I could flip the fans upside down and seat it under my GPU so I could have extra cooling on top of the passive heatsinks I placed over my VRM and ram of my video card.
Pros: Quiet at medium speed, not VERY loud even at full blast. Most likely, you are buying this because it looks cool, not because your ram actually needs it. So you should have no problem running this at low speeds for silent operation. Very sturdy Chassis and slightly variable height options when mounting. The fans can be turned upside down or replaced if you want.. The legs are also removeable and adjustable Comes with 4 thumb screws to secure the legs if you chose to mo...
Cons: Doesn't come with color options as far as the LEDs go, so if you want a different color other than blue, you can always just purchase 2 replacement fans and put them on. as easy as 1.2..3... Not SILENT at full speed, but nobody claimed it was. Not even a con. just thought I would mention. if you want silent operation, hook it up to a motherboard fan header and control it that way, or to a fan controller and you will be happy! Price was ok for $25.00 it could have been...
Summary: I chose this because of overall appearance and design. Because of the enclosed ends, it appeared to channel air into the ram more effectively. And it grips the switches that hold the DIMMS in place, which looked clever, and is. I couldn't tell from the photos if it would fit my board. But in my Asus P6X58D premium board, this fan fit over all 6 DIMMs easily.
Pros: I purchased this because I have had problems in the past with my RAM overheating and shutting down constantly. So when I bought the stuff for my new build I decided to get something to prevent that from EVER happening. What can I say? It looks good, works great and keeps my new memory nice and cool even with their own dedicated heat distribution.
