Evercool Buffalo CPU Cooler Review

eteknix.com
15 April 2011
  • Conclusion: Final Thoughts In general this CPU cooler performed well, if a little noisy. There are quite a few problems with it however, including poor translations, no User Guide or even a reference of the Warranty available. Let alone the lack of the speed control which is now built into every CPU cooler we test and is expected to be available.
  • Pros: Looks good, Performs better than stock, Easy to fit
  • Cons: Performance can easily be beaten without spending much more, No speed control so won’t idle down, Quite noisy even compared to stock coolers

Review of Evercool Buffalo CPU Cooler

Testfreaks blog
7 March 2011
  • Summary: We haven’t done many CPU cooler reviews here on TestFreaks, but I hope to change that, at least add some more from time to time. Evercool sent me two for review recently and that first I’ve got for you is the Buffalo that’s compatible with LGA1156 and LGA1136 platforms. The Buffalo is a rather small aluminum and heatpipe style cooler with a bright red fan on it, and for its size it performs admirably well.
  • Pros: Small and lightweight, Decent performance for size, Works for both LGA 1156 and 1136
  • Cons: A bit loud for my preferences, Tricky to install

Hardware Secrets

  • Summary: The Evercool Buffalo is not a high performance cooler. It is also not a silent cooler and the fact it always works at maximum speed makes it a bad option for someone who needs a silent computer, unless you connect it to a fan controller. So, if we look at the product itself, we concluded it is only an average cooler. But the picture changes when we analyse the best feature on Buffalo: its price.

Evercool Buffalo CPU Cooler (HPFI7-10025)

BCCHardware
9 October 2009
  • Summary: As soon as I saw the retail price of the Evercool Buffalo (at time of publishing ~$20.00 USD) my expectations for the Evercool Buffalo sank a little bit and I wasn't expecting much from this cooler. I was however proven very wrong by this small and affordable cooler, and as we saw in our testing it offered a 9 degree improvement over stock cooling and ran only a couple degrees warmer than the much larger (and much more expensive) Evercool Transformer 4 ( Full Review Here...
  • Pros: Good Performance, Extremely Affordable, Easy Installation
  • Cons: Nothing Major

Red&Blackness

  • Conclusion: The Evercool Buffalo CPU cooler is, at best, an average vertical cooler that falls a little short of distinguishing itself from its competitors. While this cooler isnt in the top of the class when it comes to vertical coolers, it does offer decent cooling performance.Plus, it is very easy to install and performs pretty quietly.Overall, this cooler is an average choice that might be a good deal at the right price.
