Not useable in Standard Full Towers

  • Summary: Heatsink makers have to start making their items to Minimum as opposed to Maximum height tolerances. I have Nocternas on my other 2 Builds with no such clearance issues and they are monsters in their own right.
  • Pros: Keeps my 8370 Nice and Cool
  • Cons: I cannot reassemble my full tower as the height of this monster exceeds by 3/8 of an inch the plane of the case.

  • Summary: This WILL NOT fit a micro atx board. I had tried to measure out the dimensions for the board and cooler before buying and it looked like it would be a tight fit, but a fit. Was not the case. The brackets you need to install will not fit due to some caps (At least on mine) by about 1 cm.
  • Pros: Its very well built and sturdy but not super heavy for the size so the stress on the motherboard should be less than others.

Big, bulky, comparable performance elsewhere.

  • Summary: When equally priced the CM Hyper 212 Evo gets my vote. The CM 212 Evo cools better at idle and the same at load while being lighter and somewhat easier to install. Also, the preload you achieve with the springs on the CM 212 mounts ensure proper mounting pressure. With this there is no way to tell how much torque to apply or how much pressure you're putting on your expensive cpu.
  • Pros: Effective cooling, solid mounting.
  • Cons: Big, bulky, cantankerous installation, heatpipe spacing, heavy.
