CPU Cooling & heat sink

Duane P., Newegg
18 June 2010
  • Summary: It is a nice cooling heat sink, just not up to the task of cooling larger CPUs.
  • Pros: It fit.
  • Cons: It would not keep my AMD 2.6 Ghz 285 chip cool. I now need to order something else.

works well enough

Jose D., Newegg
25 March 2010
  • Summary: My motherboard will not let me set a single permanent speed for the fan. tried different software solutions in winxp to no avail. finally ordered a fanmate from newegg and was able set rpm to stay put at whatever speed I needed. If Fanmate is turned all the way down the fan stops completely!
  • Pros: very low profile. solid construction. mine can reach 7000+rpm.
  • Cons: noise is pretty bad but not tolerable. above 4000rpm it doesn't improve temp on my athlon 4400+ socket 939. [I blame cpu and case]
