Works great!

Chad N., Newegg
23 February 2016
  • Summary: Nice solution to keep old LGA775 going a little longer.
  • Pros: Easy to Install in my old Dell 530 and dropped right into original backing plate. Dropped CPU temps 10 degrees C on an E8600. 4-Pin Connectivity.
  • Cons: None at this time.

Good value-for-dollar heatsink/fan for Intel 55-65 W CPUs

Anonymous, Newegg
27 December 2015
  • Summary: I wish Dynatron would sell mounts for AMD CPUs.
  • Pros: Dynatron's P985, K985, and K987 are all very similar. The blue tops (P985 and K985) have a two-ball fan and the red top (K987) has a one-ball fan. There might be slight differences between the heatsinks, but I cannot see any. Dynatron's website indicates that the blue-label fan has slightly highe...
  • Cons: None, for the money.

Great Cooler!

Jeremy N., Newegg
27 August 2014
  • Summary: Great cooler, isn't too loud, for the price you can't beat it!
  • Pros: Cools a lot better than the stock Intel cooler. Doesn't take up too much space. Comes with pre-applied thermal paste. Not very loud to my standards.
  • Cons: Collects dust fairly fast, after a month of ownership it had a fair amount of dust on it, and in it. But with regular cleaning, it doesn't matter.

Great But You better buy Thermal paste

Cathy S., Newegg
15 July 2014
  • Pros: Great fan and heat sink easy install and cools very well
  • Cons: Thermal paste wasn't shipped in as displayed in picture. If I hadn't purchased thermal paste with the fan it would have been useless

Good but has some issues

Harold H., Newegg
7 May 2014
  • Summary: I still recommend this fan even with the small issue of the design being very easy to break.
  • Pros: I had this fan and heatsink for well over two years. It has worked well, kept my CPUs at a reasonable temp. It's quiet too. They send some thermal paste which is a nice touch.
  • Cons: The plastic fan housing can be a bit flimsy. I very easily broke the plastic hooks that snap in and hold the fan onto the bottom part of the plastic cover when I tried to clean it. It still works but it's not connected as well as it should be. Granted I had it for over two years but it could have...

A solid, little cooler

Christina P., Newegg
12 April 2013
  • Summary: I really like this unit. It's generally an excellent performer. But it does get dusty very quickly. It also gets quite loud under load - especially when gaming. Unfortunately, over time, the fan just kind of decided to go werewolf and howl all the time.
  • Pros: Small footprint, Back-plate security and precision, decent cooling, relatively quiet for most of its life at low load.
  • Cons: Fins get very dusty very quickly, reducing cooling seemingly overnight. The fan can degrade over time until it howls and it DOES get a bit loud when under high or sustained load.

  • Summary: Do not attempt PC building whilst consuming bacon.
  • Pros: Quiet, Really guys. I don't know what some people are talking about when they say it is loud. Maybe it is their power supply fan being loud because this fan is so quiet they have nothing else to listen to. Also this is a great option for you guys upgrading your grama's compaq presario. The OEM mo...
  • Cons: Was a tad trick screwing the mounting screws in but it was secure in the end.

I wish all heatsinks were this easy

Sidarth D., Newegg
20 May 2012
  • Summary: When idle, the fan cant' be heard with the case fans turned on. Under high load the sound is audible, but isn't a high pitched whine. Its more like the whooshing of air with a slight mechanical tinge. Not unpleasant like previous heatsinks I've had.
  • Pros: I resurrected an old machine to run as a server and accidentally broke the annoying plastic pins off my old heat sink. I specifically got this heatsing because it uses screws instead of those plastic pins. It was ridiculously easy to install. The fan is not loud either.
  • Cons: None yet!

not what i paid for.

Michael B., Newegg
12 February 2012
  • Summary: i love newegg, never had a problem with them. always fast and at a reasonable price. the pictures and description was off a little bit on this one. this is the FIRST negative review i've ever done.
  • Pros: the fan works as its supposed to, keeping machine cool as hoped.
  • Cons: thermal paste wasn't shipped in bottle as picture provides. thermal paste is placed on the heatsink; normally would have been a great idea. the bracket/heatsink didn't fit my board like i expected.. wait, at all. i snapped in everything as obvious as it was. hooked up machine. got strange beeping...
