FX 8320 GAMMAXXIMUM COOLING!!!

Devin W., Newegg
25 June 2015
  • Summary: If you're on the fence about buying this then go ahead and jump off and get in the neighbors pool because this thing is definitely worth it. DEEPCOOL scored with this cooler!
  • Pros: This cooler is super quiet. I had to look in my case to make sure the fan was running the first time I turned it on. It keeps my FX 8320 at 15c idle and around 25-30c while gaming with the pre-applied thermal paste. It was easily mounted inside an NZXT Guardian case without taking the Biostar TA9...

Sweet

  • Pros: I was debating holding out for a liquid cooler but saw this on sale and said what the heck? I was immediately blown away by the quality of the thing, it just seems very well built and I love the machining on the heat pipes so they make direct contact and the fins aren't flimsy like others I've en...

Good if price and height are a concern

Steven C., Newegg
6 June 2015
  • Summary: I was looking to lower the temps on my budget gaming rig. During stress tests, core temperatures would surpass 80 C. Although this would not be a problem during normal use, I wanted a lower maximum for peace of mind.
  • Pros: Good price, quiet noise, short height (for itx cases), good performance
  • Cons: Push pins not as secure as mounting to a backplate

Gammaxx 300

Zeus B., Newegg
24 May 2015
  • Summary: This is just an update to my previous review. So far I've pushed my AMD FX-6300 @ a stable 4.5GHz with this cooler running prime95 for at least an hour. Best bang for the buck CPU cooler and I'm looking forward to their next generation coolers!
  • Pros: Quiet Keeps cpu cool even at load Overclock ability+++ Price:Performance 10/10
  • Cons: Mounting for AMD is BAD! You have to use force to mount the cooler on the motherboard.

Gammaxx 300

Zeus B., Newegg
12 May 2015
  • Summary: Really i installed it safe and sound but it doesnt mean a guaranteed success to everyone. There are some other coolers out there but this one is one of the best ones for its price.
  • Pros: Just installed this cooler in my rig 2 days ago (AMD build) and blew my mind on how good it can cool my FX-6300. At idle it goes as low as 12 degrees celsius and overclocking with this bad boy was an easy task. The temps while overclocked on load never went as high as 50 degrees celsius. Noise le...
  • Cons: Alright, i only have 1 con about the whole product itself. it was that the AMD kit for installation was really sketchy. I had to put pressure to actually put the mounts. IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT BREAKING YOUR AMD CPU AND MOTHERBOARD WITH PRESSURE DO NOT BUY THIS! The kit for Intel is a pushpin so ...

Way better than stock cooler.

Bryan H., Newegg
27 April 2015
  • Pros: Quieter and better (not to mention bigger) than stock cooler. Mounting was painless on the FX6300 with Gigabyte FML motherboard. I was glad to be able to point it the direction I wanted to. Back <<--airflow Front. Fan looks good too, and thermal paste is nicely distributed. I am really glad not t...
  • Cons: First one came broken, had to rma and use stock cooler for approx 2 weeks. This made me appreciate it even more though, because the stock cooler is so noisy by comparison. Not a star knocker because as i see it, things can always be packed better, and they can always be shipped more gently, too. ...

Easy Install

nicholas b., Newegg
21 April 2015
  • Summary: I did a little overclocking. fx6300. I got 4.1MHz never went over 58c at full load. Idle 31c.
  • Pros: Very easy to install. Took me maybe 20min. That's counting taking the stock cooler out and cleaning up the processor. Clipped right in.
  • Cons: None really. I do wish I bought the DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX S40 or they all have the same design. But with and extra heatsink. For only 5 dollars more then this one.

Great Cooler, Nice Big Fan

Andrew K., Newegg
2 April 2015
  • Summary: Installing it was a bit tricky, the Intel Bracket didn't seem to want to lock down. Realize the lock position on the bracket where in the other side (Different from their instructed) Overall great Cooler and Pre paste pattern was nice and speard out.
  • Pros: Big Fan ( Doesn't need to spin so much) Doesn't feel or look cheap Light Weight Came Pre-Paste
  • Cons: Installing was tricky

Pop in place

Jason L., Newegg
29 March 2015
  • Summary: I would have gladly spent a few more dollars for a better method of securing the heat sink to the board, if it was screw in with a back plate this would be a better product.
  • Pros: Cheap, Direct to heat pipe style is what I was looking for.
  • Cons: The pop in place method of securing a heatsink to a mobo, is seriously outdated and extreme pain to deal with, the amount of pressure you need to apply in order for it to properly attach is risky to the motherboard. I got 3 of the 4 in place but the other plastic latch gave way, I had to rig it i...
