Still using this to this day.

Michael F., Newegg
3 December 2011
  • Summary: If corsair would bring this back to market, I know it would be a regular seller.
  • Pros: Super efficient, quite, dependable. I love this cooling system, but there hasn't been one in existence anywhere near the price point ever since. I would buy 5 of these today if corsair still made them. This unit has been running 24/7 for over 5 years without a problem across multiple chips, curre...
  • Cons: Have to add cooling fluid once every couple months, and corsair has discontinued this, but WHY?

5 Years Later, Corsair Nautilus 500 Still Working Great !

Theresa K., Newegg
18 October 2011
  • Summary: All in all, this thing has paid for itself, a few times over. I always saved money purchasing OEM cpu's, and I always get double the performance over a stock cpu, because the Corsair Nautilus 500 keeps all of my overclocked processors as cool as ice.
  • Pros: I posted a few reviews and updates for this water cooling kit on here. I originally bought this back in October of 2006, from Newegg. Here we are 5 years later. I have upgraded my computer many times over, but I've always kept the Corsair Nautilus 500, because it has always worked well. I just re...
  • Cons: There are no cons. The fans push almost 80cfm, at high speed. In low fan mode, you can't even hear the fan. At high fan mode, you can hear the fan, but it's not very loud or annoying. There is definitely no whining noise, like I read in some other person's review. There is also no gurgling sound ...

works perfectly!

John C., Newegg
19 December 2008
  • Summary: very easy to set up and suprisingly effective unit..buy it if you can find it!!
  • Pros: kit comes w/ every thing, easy to install and maintain. cools my x2 6400+ 65 deg. f. idle, 85-90 deg f. after 4 hours of crysis or CoD4. after a year and two systems, including some time spent also cooling an HD 3870 oc,d, which averaged 36-38 deg c. under load. it still works perfectly.
  • Cons: NONE

Good Cooling!

kenneth f., Newegg
30 November 2008
  • Summary: Use metal clamps. Personally i dont like to keep any heat transfer devices inside the case and this can sit on top or next to it without adding any heat inside. Use only distilled water in case you do have a leak!
  • Pros: Had this unit for a year and it works great, added a 240mm radiator and two smart fans to cool a q9550 oc'd to 3.93 and a video car and thats the 3rd cpu and motherboard i have used it on. All fans on low cpu gets to 110f and video gets to 125f with everything maxed.
  • Cons: Tubing is hard to use, get something more flexible it will make you life easier. Primoflex works the best.

Pump failing, corsair does not support product

Eric B., Newegg
11 November 2008
  • Summary: If I hadn't received a defective unit, I think I would have been very happy with this product. Good design, works well except for the noise.
  • Pros: The unit is small, easy to install. Cooling is as good as I expected from it. It connects to the PC's power supply so there is no worry about forgetting to turn it on. Also unlike my previous liquid cooling product, it does not leak when you tip it.
  • Cons: Within about 3 months my unit started to have a problem with the pump. Corsair tech support confirmed this problem by listening to it over the phone. The unit does still work and cools my CPU but the pump makes an unbearable loud buzzing noise - my computer sounds like a jet engine. Corsair is un...

Corsair Nautilus 500, 2 Years Later

Theresa K., Newegg
26 August 2008
  • Summary: Cooling of an Intel Core2Duo E6600 on a ASUS P5B Deluxe
  • Pros: I posted about this product back in October of 2006. My original reviews with temperatures, etc. are back ok page 5 and 6. I have owned the Nautilus 500 on for just about 2 years and it is still spinning like a top, working great. The temperatures are exactly the same as the day I set it up. Just...
  • Cons: The only thing I didnt like was the pci bracket pass through holes, for the tubing.I was thinking that I was going to puncture the tub because the tube fits in there tightly and scrapes against the side as you are slipping it through. I replaced the pci pass through holes with a Koolance VLV-10BK...

worked, WHEN it worked

Michael S., Newegg
23 August 2008
  • Summary: When the pump went out, the next day I contacted the Corsair support phone line, only to find out that I had to file the problem via email! So I sent in 4 emails and no response! I had to call them with the threat of a formal complaint against the company to get any support at all.
  • Pros: Did what it was supposed to while it worked.
  • Cons: Within less than 4 months of owning this product, the pump went out. Corsair support is laughable at best (see other thoughts).

As a newbie to liquid cooling, It works just fine for me.

Dan B., Newegg
15 June 2008
  • Summary: I hate Jack Thompson, ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam.
  • Pros: Simple installation, Does it's job well.
  • Cons: It would have been nice if the kit came with some ribbed flex hoses for tight curves. As it is, my setup has some kinks.

Stock Air vs Nautilus

Robert M., Newegg
12 June 2008
  • Summary: I've never had a problem with Corsair but in this they need to stick to what they know best or at least hire someone that dosent want to cut every corner just for cost saving.
  • Pros: The best things I can say about the Nautilus 500 is that if you like to laugh tell you cry give it a shot.
  • Cons: I tested against stock cooler for AMD 5200+ along with my tried and true Zaluman and both were at full load what this was at idea. Zaluman for me runs at 39C under load with room temp of 75F. Stock cooler was running at 42C with same room temp. This is the first time on a full kit water cooler wi...

Great Product!

Raymond M., Newegg
3 June 2008
  • Summary: I was nervous about going liquid cooled. Who wouldn't? But after alot of research I went with this unit and never looked back. The connectors are solid. I've read some complaints about the aluminum radiator and it not being protected.
  • Pros: Easy set up. Never leaked. It took about 3 days for all the air to work its way to the reservoir, topped it off and after a year and a half and 2 military moves (gorilla packers hired from Samsonite commercials), I haven't cracked it open since.
  • Cons: As this is my first and only liquid cooling system, I don't know if its the norm, but it seemed like a lot of pressure I had to put on the CPU to get the cooling block to clamp down.
