Quiet, fit well.

B. Rowland, Amazon
24 April 2013
  • Summary: Took me a bit to figure out how to mount it... But when i did, it fit firmly and obviously seated against the processor. My cpu temps are constant. Hoses barely reach to my box's exhaust port.

Good once you get it mounted.

William A. Stanko, Amazon
30 March 2013
  • Summary: The mounting instructions are somewhat lacking. Even after watching youtube it was difficult. They aren't clear on how the back plate mounts. On my sabertooth z77 I had to twist the plate to line up with the mounting holes.

Idle temps 5 degrees above ambient. Need I say more?

Caleb Y., Newegg
5 November 2012
  • Summary: The radiator is bigger, and harder to accommodate inside the case, but this is the price you pay for those low temps, and this is certainly easier to place than a 120x240 radiator. The label on the bottom of the radiator is facing my case window now...it really bothers me..
  • Pros: Yes, yes I need say more... This is an upgrade from my H50 which has served me well for the last 4 years, and it uses the same mounting hardware so I didn't even need to swap the bracket...just removed the H50 and dropped the H70 in its place (after some cleanup of course). The old unit had survi...
  • Cons: The tubes are more flexible (and shorter than the H50), but are prone to kinking if you bend them too far, and the placement on the right side of the pump (as opposed to the bottom on the H50) means that putting them on the front of your case requires a 180 degree turn on the tubes, pushing their...

Not for an novice builder

Christopher C., Newegg
26 October 2012
  • Summary: If you've built a few computers in your day, you'll be able to figure out how to install this. Once you do install it, it works great. At the end of the day I WOULD buy this again and I WOULD recommend it to a friend.
  • Pros: Intel Core i7 3.6GHZ. Idling, it averages 30 C. Running a Prime95 stress test I maxed out at 63 C, which is great. With my previous PC using a Fan+Heatsink I'd hit the high 70's. It runs pretty quiet. It also has decently sleek look, although clear tubes would have been nice. It also comes with t...
  • Cons: The Instructions are HORRIBLE! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I don't know who wrote them, but they lack all discernible communication skills. They don't correctly explain how to attach the retention ring to the MoBo; and when following the pictures, the CPU plate did not fit into the bracket. I had to rem...

Couple of issues, but pretty cool

Miroslav S., Newegg
15 September 2012
  • Summary: I am getting high 60s temperature on 6 core SBE at full load in a relatively warm room (maybe 77F). When I mean full load, I mean MATLAB with 12 threads working at 100%, this is a lot more than the regular games would do.
  • Pros: Dropped the temperature on my Sandy Bridge E by over 10C. Despite the bad installation instructions, once you figure it out, it is pretty easy to install.
  • Cons: Bad instructions is the first thing to notice, i.e. plastic knobs go on the screw holes on the bracket before you install it. I am removing an egg because this unit comes with only a two pin connector. Effectively, this means that the fan will be blasting at full speed all the time, make sure to ...

documentation lacking

Susan P., Newegg
10 September 2012
  • Pros: Quiet and adequately cools Sandybridge-E
  • Cons: Connecting the bracket to the cooling puck is difficult and the documentation does not show how the two parts mate together. The burrs on the bracket lock into the puck edges, but the process is difficult while holding the two piece together and tightening the screws.

Great cooler

Jamie P., Newegg
8 September 2012
  • Summary: This replaces 2 defective H80s in a row - both had defective fan controllers, I got this so I could use my own fans and fan controller while still having an AIO water cooler. Runs dead silent using 2 stock fans from my Fractal Design Define Mini case, i7 3770 @ 4.4gz on stock voltages with max temps...
  • Pros: Roll-your-own fan/fan control, effective cooling, low profile.
  • Cons: terrible directions, radiator size misleading (it is NOT the same as on H80), mounting method not as good as on H80

Pretty good

Jay S., Newegg
19 August 2012
  • Summary: im happy with the final results, and it does a better job of cooling then a stock fan, with out blocking air flow. And looks much better then those monster fan/heat pipe things. But i gotta say, installing it made me want to scream( and cuss which i did) becuse you cant hold bolth the radiator and...
  • Pros: -Dropped my cpu temps about 10 deg overall with a push/pull araingment, over the stock fan (cant say if its better then a HP fan or not) - Hose's can swivel at the pump end, which really helps from putting to much pressure on youre motherboard, or unequal pressure on the cpu -can set it up with 1...
  • Cons: - the included directions are near WORTHLESS....worst instruction ive ever seen. It could only be worse if thier were no instructions at all, and it aint much better then that. But if you have any mechanical knowledge, you can figure it out - need 6 hands to install it, and you WILL hit youre MB ...

Works well.

Adam S., Newegg
14 August 2012
  • Summary: After adding two 120mm fans in a push pull the radiator ends up pretty bulky so make sure you have some room to mount it. Retention ring is great, but i needed to modify the install method to get it to work.
  • Pros: Does a Great job of cooling. Idle temps are at or barely higher than room temp. Under load dropped the temp by 12C compared to my old Antec Performance Max (not a bad cooled either) putting the load temps at about 42C in a 21C room.
  • Cons: None yet.

Corsair H70 H2O CPU cooler

Stan, Amazon
10 August 2012
  • Summary: I have built numerous computers and have tried air cooling and water cooling. I have bought and used the H70, H80 and H100. I prefer the H70 over the H80. The plug that is used my the H80 and H100 are the 4 pin molex connector compared to the 3 pin connector that can plug into your motherboard.
