Corsair H100i CPU Cooler Review

maximum pc
4 October 2013
  • Summary: You’ll probably want to use an extension cable or give the pump its own line since the distance between the CPU and most drive cages is usually too great to use a single cable for both locations. Despite its quirks, though, the H100i is a highly respectable piece of gear. The firmware and cabling issues are not difficult or tedious to resolve, and the build quality is worthy of a 5-year warranty (the longest of any brand of closed-loop liquid cooler).
  • Pros: Easy installation; excellent cooling; 5-year warranty.
  • Cons: Can get noisy; needs firmware update; cabling caveat.

  • Summary: The Corsair H100i performed quite well, and way better than the stock cooler, but was definitely edged out by the NZXT Kraken x60 cooler in most tests.  It is still a great cooler and includes an impressive 5 year warranty.

  • Summary: Corsair once again has a nice LCS kit in their hands with the H100i. It remains a kit that is comparable to the really exceptional heatpipe based coolers. The big plus of course is the extremely cool looks inside your PC. The H100i is showing decent to good cooling performance, that nifty looking cooling block with the new wider tubing and its wide socket compatibility .. well you really can't go wrong with it.

Hardware Secrets
8 February 2013
  • Summary: The Corsair H100i presented an exceptional cooling performance in our tests, outperforming the former best-performance liquid cooling solution in our roundup, the . With the fans at their maximum speed, the noise level was high. However, configuring them at their minimum speed, the cooling performance was still excellent. This means the user can find an optimum balance between cooling performance and noise level.

Corsair Hydro Series H100i

HEXUS
28 December 2012
  • Conclusion: Corsair's taken its time in producing a successor to the much-loved H100, but the new-and-improved H100i has been well worth the wait. Design constraints prevent the H100i from being revolutionary - there's only so much you can do with a pump attached to a 240mm radiator in a closed loop - but upgrades in every meaningful area make the H100i a genuinely-better product.

  • Summary: There are several reasons to purchase the new H100i over the older H100 or many of the other dual rad (240mm) AIO water-cooling kits out there. Some of these reasons might be the new higher performing fans, the easier to install mounting hardware, wider yet more flexible tubing, or the new Corsair Link v2 software. Whatever the reason you will be getting a great piece of hardware.

Corsair H100i Review

7 December 2012
  • Excerpt: The famous H100 finally gets a revamp, the thing is can that little 'i' really mean a lot when we start talking intensive testing? The original H100 did perform really well even though it was noisy compared with the big brand heat sinks, as we found out though with Noctua NF-F12's or more recently SP120 Quiet Editions it was a completely different animal and could be tuned to be a great performing plus a very quiet unit.

  • Conclusion: In the arena of CPU coolers, whether you are looking at high-end air cooling or self-contained liquid cooling the results to be obtained have settled. Significant advances in thermal performance appears to have flattened, until H100i came along. The original H100 pushed the boundaries for performance and whilst it was a solid contender for the top-spot it did have some weaknesses which have all been addressed in the next installment.
  • Pros: + Excellent thermal performance, + Compact, + Easy to install, + No memory clearance issues, + Fan control & monitoring via Corsair Link, + Dual 120mm (High RPM) fans, + 5 years warranty
