Summary: I bought this 6 months ago when I filled my 6 memory slots with 24G of Vengeance DIMMs. My previously quiet Cooler Master with it's slow, big fans and open air design was very noticeably noisier with the pair of whiny, high speed fans on this thing. It was a little tricky getting it mounted correctly mostly because the DIMMs have a slight curve to the heat sinks and the base of the fans is flat.
Summary: I ignored most of the other reviews regarding the sound seeing that some did not have problems and went ahead and purchased this over a year ago. Before a year was up, these fans started making a horrendous racket. I cleaned them with compressed air but it is something internal. After a year, one of the fans started failing and would not turn. The value is horrible because like so many others in these reviews these fans did not live up to expectation.
Summary: Easy to install, looks good and seemed to perform as expected until it started making this intolerable noise, i have all 4 fans in my case at full blast and couldn't even hear them... i think it's, well, was even worse than xfx 5870's fan at 75%, ended up disconnecting it, hopefully my RAM'll be ok, there's plenty of airflow in my case...
Summary: Cooler unit does not clip onto ram slots all that well. Give your case a hard bump and it could fall off. Also i had one of these running for about 6 months or so and one of the fans died. If it was 10bucks then i would say buy it but it is not so its not really worth it. Just rigging a fan in your case blowing on the ram would be the same as this thing.
Summary: The fans corsair decided to use are junk! Mine started making noise after about two weeks. I can't RMA it through Corsair since it would cost more for me through shipping. I have instead swapped out the fans for quieter ones. If you do some research, the fans making a horrible noise is a common issue.
Summary: Worked great for 3 months - then NOISY FAILURE. It worked adequately for 3 months then died a noisy death. it's overpriced and under-delivers. Must be cheap bearings or bushings in the fans. Now looking for ball-bearing fans to replace.
Summary: Worked for roughly 11 months. Both fans have begun making horrific noise. Until the noise began I loved the device. Bought a OCZ model for a second computer, and so far it has yet to make the noises, sadly though it came with lights. This is roughly 10 bucks more than I paid for it just under a year ago as well. FAR too expensive for me to replace the existing one with the same one!
Excerpt: really higher excellent, ideal match, couldn't be easier to set up, fantastic air flow simply the loudest fan in my case, unless i crank my cpu fan. i strategy on getting a fan controller to slow them down when not needed hopefully this will help the excellent seriously is good, it feels like your receiving your moneys worth as quickly as you take it out of the box.
Excerpt: Nicely created, higher excellent NOISY! This issue moves a ton of air correct on top rated of your memory but at the price of getting the loudest item in your system. The mounting is sufficient but leaves a small to be preferred. It attaches to the clip/ejector mechinism on the memory slots. If you move your pc or take it for a car ride, it may come loose.
