Summary: I purchased this ram cooler on 09/29/2014, trusting the Corsair name. Two months later I started noticing an intermittent noise as if a fan blade were coming into contact with an object. The noise was actually coming from the fans on this cooler. (See uploaded picture.) I have 32 GB of "Dominator 2133" ram that was being cooled by this fan unit. I'm not an over-clocker and probably don't need the cooler but paid $500 for the ram and wanted to protect the investment.
Summary: This accessory will just make the RAM lose in place as it is designed to hang on to the RAM. It looks great when it works but no good most of the time. This is also designed for X79 I beleive because it is upside down on my Z87 motherboard.
Summary: I always give at least one good egg for NewEgg.com I have been when then since the day they opened!
Pros: RAM cooling is hard! I must say that first off. I have been trying all types of companies for my RAM cooling. I just can’t get one that lasts. Purchased on 4/7/13 and yeah one of the fans is dead already, and the 2nd one is on its way. It was going well up until about a month ago, then I got the nice moaning sound on the first fan. I like the company but this product just doesn’t cut the mustard. Nice effort.
Cons: Wasn't able to get it on tightly on the brackets. Didn't make 1 year until kaput.
Summary: Save your money on this one and try another brand, not even going to bother sending this one back as its just a waste of time at this point and i'm sure the next one will fail too.
Pros: Keeps ram cool while it works and log enough power cable to reach the 2-pin connectors.
Cons: Purchased this on 09/11 and about 4months into it one of the fans started to rattle and a few weeks latter is was almost stopping so I sent it back and was given a new one. This time I went about 6-8 months and it's starting to rattle again on startup but then it quiets down after about 5 minutes but I’m sure this will die soon. Also, the mounting brackets are pretty flimsy but it will stay on just don’t jerk it around or it will tilt to the side and fall off. I'm dis...
Summary: They must have no quality control on these things if the fans keep failing so quickly. It wouldn't as bad if Cosair would at least grant RMAs on them, but Cosair has issues with RMAs in general on all of their products except ram.
Pros: One of the fans at least works.
Cons: I've had 3 of these so far. The first were included with the Dominator ram kits. The first one had a fan fail after 2 days and Cosair refused to RMA it. 2 years later one of the ram modules went bad and Cosair finally granted an RMA the fan kit with the ram, but the replacement also had a fan fail within a couple days. The 3rd on was the triple fan model and 2 of the 3 fans became very noisy after a couple weeks.
Summary: From the start this thing was awesome. Kept my ram nice and cool. 4 weeks later bam. Fans make a horrible high pitched noise and spin when they want to. I have already taken this out and don't have any plans on buying another Corsair Ram Cooler.
Pros: Well built, Keeps my ram at room temp when it's working
Cons: I have had this fan for a little over a month now and the fans has begun to make some horrible noises. Very high pitch grinding noises.
Summary: For a large and supposedly quality company this was not what I was expecting from Corsair products. If the replacement fan has this problem as well I will NOT be buying anymore Corsair products.
Pros: Works good when its not making awful noises. Looks Nice, Seems well-built.
Cons: After about a week running fine the fan started to make some awful screeching noise. Have to RMA and the shipping costs 1/3 the price I paid for the fan.
