RAM Fan for a Dell 470

Donald S., Newegg
17 March 2014
  • Summary: I needed a memory fan to fully utilize all of the memory sockets on a old Dell Precision 470 that I liberated out of a dumpster and got running again : p I bought this without realizing that the PC had a proprietary connector for the fan :( but with a little patience, care and an Exacto knife, I was...
  • Pros: Easy to assemble, unit snaps snuggly on the RAM clips, it just works, no noticeable sound increase (but my PC runs pretty load as it is) ...
  • Cons: None for me, besides having to trim the power connector, which is not the fan's fault . But I can see issues, if you have tight clearances over/around your memory. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if you accidentally unclip your RAM trying to get this in place.

Awesome

Troy O., Newegg
13 April 2013

  • Pros: Cools RAM well and very quiet.
  • Cons: none

Cool, quiet, cheap

Austin R., Newegg
12 April 2013
  • Summary: RAM went from 30c+ at idle to under ambient... I've seen it hit 66f! Ambient should have been 73f... but it happens quite often when the A/C is blowing in the house.
  • Pros: Easy install. Really surprised. Doesn't need any instructions cause it's just clip on!
  • Cons: Can't think of any

Interesting

Andrew Z., Newegg
27 March 2013
  • Summary: Of all the components of a computer, the RAM is the one I have had the least issues with over time, so having a cooler for it doesn't really seem necessary. But, I had an extra fan header on my MSI A85X motherboard and this was on sale, so I figured I would give it a try.
  • Pros: Gives RAM extra cooling.
  • Cons: Probably not necessary.

Small Size Perfect for X79 Mobo

Mike F., Newegg
8 February 2013
  • Summary: I have both RAM banks full in my Sabertooth X79 (64GB Patriot Viper 3). After installing a CPU liquid cooler I was concerned about the loss of airflow. I tried another fan set, but it was too wide to fit next to my liquid cooling radiator. These fit and work perfectly.
  • Pros: They are small, powerful, lightweight, easy to install and hold tight. The bracket has some adjustments from side to side to allow it to fit in tight spots. Along with a great price and promo code from Newegg, I couldn't ask for more than that.
  • Cons: None. People say they are noisy. I don't know (maybe so), but I have so many loud noises coming from my case now that a few extra dbs don't even register with me.

Good Fan

Anonymous, Newegg
15 November 2012
  • Summary: A little loose, but can be adjusted.
  • Pros: Very nice fan nicely constructed and made out of heavy aluminum. Not a sound comes from it, although it has 3 fans. Keeps ram pretty cool. You can just clip it in and connect to a motherboard fan header, no advanced skills needed.
  • Cons: Very little or none at all.
