Summary: The suggestion on how to install it by Corsair is also garbage. It is very lose and will probably come off the dimm brackets at the fist bump or knock it gets. There is a video online showing how to tighten the screws and retention clips all the way FIRST, than bascially pulling and bending it on...
Pros: Nice and high clearance for the ram. Blows a ton of air directly down onto the dimm slots.
Cons: Unfortunatly this is gonna be my first ever 2 egg review. All the rumors are true. This thing started making a very annoying buzzing noise just a few hours into use.I've had it in my case for about a week now and it seems to be progressivly louder each day. It's nothing CrAzY, but it's deffinatly...
Pros: Neat looking! Cools surrounding board and moves air around.
Cons: Well, I'd written a review before - and now I kind of have to turn it around. As reported by several others, the fans are likely to become unspun. Horrific sounds come out of my computer every time I start it up. Corsair REALLY needs to pull this product off the shelf, and offer replacements!
Summary: I hope Corsair saved a ton of money buying these cheap fans and not paying for RMA shipping, because it is costing them their reputation. I was considering buying a couple of their power supplies, but am now afraid of the same "great quality". This will be the last product of theirs I buy.
Pros: Nice size, fit beside my AC Freezer 7 Pro, well conceived mounting system, looks pretty cool.
Cons: Cheap, low quality fans. Ran good for several months, after a year they sound similar to a handful of plastic spoons and a few gerbils thrown into a blender.
Summary: Huge fan of Corsair, I have many of their products, maybe they need to redesign these fans or use a different manufacturer for the fans themselves. Your better off going with a ram cooler that you can replace fans, ie. the Gskill fan is what I'm replacing this with..
Pros: Keeps Memory cool during OC situations.
Cons: Seems like after a couple of months these things start to develop noise, then after you pass the 4 month period, they are the loudest thing in my house when I turn on my pc. Only way to get them quite is to open my case and tap on the fans, I've had two of these fan cooler units and both have fai...
Summary: I got these for free with the set of ram I purchased. I wouldn't actually spend money on them, though they look nice in the case.
Pros: I have had this set for about a year and a half. Within the first 6 months one of the fans started making a huge rattling noise. I applied some electrical tape to it, so it won't spin. The other two fans are still working fine. I don't know how much it is honestly helping
Cons: One fan making rattling noises, and is unusably.
Summary: Poor quality - I should have heeded the other reviewers - this thing is almost guaranteed to break after 2 or 3 months use. Honestly, I expected much better from Corsair, supposedly a premium brand.
Pros: Easy to install, nice long cord to attach to any fan power supply you like. It works well when it works
Cons: After about 45 days of use, one of the fans started a high pitched whine that is unbearable. The entire fan assembly is cheap, the fans are cheap, and they are LOUD even out of the box - in my cooler master 932 tower with stock fans, the corsair CMXAF1 is the loudest thing in the package.
Summary: after all said and done,it cost me about$40 to make this unit usable,id look else ware for a ram cooler
Pros: it fits and works to cool the ram
Cons: the fans used are of cheep quality i had two of the three fans go bad within one week of owning it,they became very noisy and rattly on start up and at first would quit down after some time, but after awhile they just stayed loud so i had to replace the fans in the unit.
