Summary: I am a fan of Corsair memory brand and in the past I have used their DHX pro-memory for DDR1 back in the day that used parametric display of information, I found it quite useful in determining memory failure in their old models in the past. This new unit is a bit expensive for parametric data but it now displays temperature information which is a nice thing to know.
Summary: I tried to install this on an ASUS Crosshair V motherboard, but am unable to do so because the memory goes in upside down compared to other boards. I have been made to understand this happens on some AMD and X79 based motherboards. The cables that come off the Dominator RAM modules are not long enough to put it in right side up, and putting the unit on upside down interferes with the ability to install a graphics card in the top (primary) slot.
Summary: Well designed color temp indicator led's very nice. Running 24 gig dominator the activity led's are active during game play and look great! One of my Led is not showing but it could be a lose connection. Overall good buy.
Summary: Only complaint is from personal install. Wires that connect to modules are just a little longer than needed, and plugin is slightly tricky. Noobs should steer away. Also there is not a designation for the plugs on the unit. Would've been nice to have wires numbered. Only works with certain Corsaire RAM modules.
Summary: It does take a while to be able to read the led display and understand what it means, better would have been a LED display with numbers indicating speed and function. It is built like a rock and once you see the insides of the part you understand just how much work they put into it. It works well and after a couple of months I am understanding what it tells me from my memory on the flash. The response from it is instant, and accurate.
Excerpt: I purchased this fan December 2007 from Newegg and it's been operating 24ǝ ever since with the exception of removal/reinstallation during rebuilds. It has outlasted 3 power supplies and stayed in my method longer than just about any other element. As described, the brackets look flimsy but they've in no way come off unintentionally or shifted at all and my laptop is moved and/or banged about "often". This isn't cryo or liquid cooling right here people.
Excerpt: Fans do a terrific job of cooling memory. Performance is not questionable for me. I have owned 2 in the past both failed on me within two months of installing. *HOWEVER* (read other thoughts) I RMA'd each terrible fans and corsair sent me 2 new ones. I have installed the initially of the 2 and have been running it for numerous months now with no noise, no difficulties.
