Very good air cooler

Habeeb, Amazon
8 September 2013
  • Summary: This cooler is a very good product by corsair. Pros: - Able to accommodate multiple sockets. I have used it with 1366, 1156 and 1155 processors - Bought it at less than half the retail price on amazon - Adjustable cpu fan speed (medium and high) - copper heatpipes - high quality fan - easy to set up - Sufficient cooling capacity Cons - Not as good when compared to other more recognised coolers such as noctua

This thing is a beast!

MissileMan, Amazon
28 December 2012
  • Summary: This cooler is huge! It works great, but you need to make sure that you have room for it in your case. Make sure your case has enough side cover clearance. Also, if you have fins on your memory the fan might not fit properly. You may actually have to take a fan off just to get to one of the motherboard pin connectors (depending on your motherboard). All that aside, this thing does a great job of cooling and that's the point!

Great cooler

Robert Hirtz, Amazon
25 September 2012
  • Summary: Installed this unit on an i-4 OC'd to 4ghz. Stock cooler failed. The A50 keeps the proc running at 45C under prime 95. Easy to install. Instructions are vague, but there are videos available on youtube for the novice.

from 65C down to 25C

  • Summary: I recently constructed a computer with an intel i5 Lynnfield quad core CPU. Constructing the machine, I noticed that intel had not changed the design of the stock cpu cooler since the Pentium 4. I figured it would do anyway and finished constructing the machine. I set the alarm in the BIOS to go off when the computer reached 60C. It was a nightmare. Running intense graphical programs and statistical software heated the cpu to intolerable levels.

Rips the stock cooler a new one!

Asim Qureshi, Amazon
3 July 2012
  • Summary: Bought this for an older rig, the temps. has dropped massively, it's quiet, came nicely packaged, and looks pretty awesome. I have to say I'm very impressed with Corsair's attention to detail and it's components in general. However, the only semi con I'd say regarding the A50 is the mounting bracket. It requires some effort to get in properly on the mounting holes on the motherboard.

Ice Cold

  • Summary: I got a build your own PC kit from tiger direct, seemed like a great deal, and everything worked perfect. The only problem is that the CPU cooler was not doing its job at all. The CPU was running at @ 50C idle, and playing even older games like half life 1, would cause freezing due to overheating (I have a decent graphics card also, so this was really frustrating) I came to realize tiger direct put together this build your own deal to get rid of these worthless fans.

Not for LGA 2011, yet still kinda worked.

Josh, Amazon
12 April 2012
  • Summary: I read on very many sites that this would work on LGA 2011 processors. It fits after you poke the little grommets out of the motherboard, but, the cooling surface does not completely cover the processor. this cooler is HUGE, although with the processors now a days they have to be. This would not fit above my Corsair Vengeance RAM. I am working on returning this and I got a Corsair H80 to cool my build.
