Good CPU Cooler lacks mounting screws.
8 July 2012
Summary: July 7th I received my Cooler Master Vortex Plus CPU Cooler RR-VTPS-28PK-R1. The plastic mounts used to fasten the retention plates would not fit into the Asus P5LP-LE(Leonite) Motherboard. I had to travel to Microcenter here in Cincinnati to purchase the Startech.com M3 x 1/4"long screws. The screws worked very well to mount the retention brackets and the CPU cooler to the motherboard.
Summary: Background. I am a web designer (vs. a gamer) who runs several Office apps and Adobe Suite products at same time. I have a two-year old 1st generation I7 with a slim case (1386 socket) and over the last several weeks noticed the stock fan on my system was making allot of noise, constantly on "high", and after internet research determined others where having similar "noise" and "fail" issues with their stock fan on this model.
