Atrocious Customer Service
12 September 2012
Summary: After unpackaging my product, I hooked it up and turned it on. It worked for no more than 20 seconds before it died. After talking to a customer support rep, we decided that the fan motor was bad. He told me to fill out some paperwork online, and that they would replace the unit at no cost to me. After a few weeks, I got an email saying that the paperwork I filled out was incorrect, and that I actually needed to fill out an "eRMA".
Summary: I have had this cooler master for about a month. After the first two weeks it would only work when the laptop was in certain positions. Then it just started cutting off on it's own. I thought perhaps it was a short in the wire, so I replaced it to no avail. It no longer works after just 4 weeks of use.
Summary: I purchased this item on March 3, 2012, and it's already broken as of June 8, 2012. Fan doesn't turn on any more, tried all different USB ports, different laptops, and nothing. Motor is probably dead. I had a cheaper fan that I bought way before this one and even that is still working. So disappointed, the product seemed to be working so well while it lasted.
Summary: Received the Cooler Master Notepal Cooler. Upon connection of the fan to the laptop USB port I proceeded to push the on button. The fan started up nicely however when I took my finger off the start button, the fan stopped. I read the directions, played with the fan rate adjustment wheel and tried again. The fan only operated as long as my finger depressed the on button. Too bad! If I had three hands it would be fine, but I don't.
Summary: I am using my Notepal x2 right now as I write this and I am very impressed with how much it is cooling my laptop. Basically, my Dell Precision M6500 dumps its heat right out the back as I am working. The longer the machine is on, the more hot it gets, meaning the more heat which is dumped out the back onto my legs.
Summary: I ordered this item on August 17, 2011 and it stopped working a few weeks ago. I've continuously submitted to Cooler Master that the fan does not know work. I explained that I'm not 100% sure that the fan is the part that doesn't work. I wouldn't know how to take apart the notebook cooler to replace the fan. The company has been nothing but rude to me. I never said I knew how to position the fans on the panel. So much for a warranty of one year...
Works well, except when it stopped working aftger 4 months
20 April 2012
Summary: Product worked very well, until yesterday when it just stopped working. No warning whatsoever---just shut off and won't turn back on. I have owned this product for four months. I'd expect a longer life than this. So, buy with caution knowing that the lifespan may be shorter than expected. I expect to purchase another product as a replacement.
Summary: This item is a good buy, provides a cool surface for my i7 asus that reaches mid 80s to 90s during intense games. Drops my temp at least 5-7 degrees. I removed the last star because I wish it would disperse a little more air. All in all, a great buy for the price. I would say the best.
Summary: The product lives up to its billing. I ordered the cooling pad a couple of days ago and UPS just dropped it off. It fits my 17" laptop, came with a USB cord, and has kept my laptop from overheating. As a bonus, the fan is quiet.
