Too Loud

Mr. M., Newegg
16 December 2015
  • Summary: Bought this based on the high number of positive reviews to replace a failing 7 year old stock fan. Not sure if other people don't mind the noise or if mine is faulty somehow. Placed a support ticket with Cooler Master.
  • Pros: LEDs are bright and colorful. Easily fits in Thermaltake Armor+MX case.
  • Cons: Seems excessively loud. Easily twice as loud as all my 120mm fans combined. I have a really hard time believing it's running at the advertised 19 dBA.

Thick as a brick.

Anderson P., Newegg
6 July 2015
  • Summary: Yes, I know, I should check the 30mm before buying but this thing is massive for a stupid fan.
  • Pros: None so far
  • Cons: It won't fit on a Corsair Graphite Series 600T. The 600T case is massive but still this fan needs more space. 30mm thick will hit everywhere inside your case. I had to cut both sides of the fan ring to make it work. Holes don match holes in the case and I expected that to be a standard. Fan does ...

Does not fit the NZXT phantom

Harameet G., Newegg
9 January 2015
  • Summary: Otherwise looks like a great deal for a great fan
  • Pros: Looks like a great fan but make sure it fits because it seems to be custom for CM cases.
  • Cons: Does not fit my Full tower NZXT 200mm fan housing at the top or at the side...

Not sure if I got a bad one

Bob, Amazon
4 April 2014
  • Summary: Not sure if I got a bad fan but the air flow kinda sucks. The fan is almost absolutely silent, but my 140mm fans move WAY more air than this thing. Over all I was extremely disappointed. This fan does not seem to be built to handle the high end performance applications that demand high air flow.

Big fan, little air.

Maggie Brown, Amazon
16 March 2014
  • Summary: There are so many reviews, informal on mining/gaming forums and formal on gaming and tech blogs saying this fan is the best on the market. Perhaps. But for true speed and top/side exhaust, do yourself a favor, get a turbo mini home fan, 20cm/9inch and try to use that in tandem with removing the...

Bad first buy

Anonymous, Newegg
15 March 2014
  • Pros: quiet, decent cfm with low rpms
  • Cons: 1 of 2 fans I ordered makes an unbearable ticking noise after 1 month, can't return after just 30 days.
